Ok Ty good awesome vid! Glad the echo is gone. Much better man! Love the idea of using your body parts for measuring fish. Brilliant idea! Keep them vids coming! thanks!
This is off topic but what would u recommend using over a reck in the gulf for like cobia I can't catch one I have been trying also about grouper thanks I would love to know and ill subscribe
8wt is best all around rod.... 9wt is good to keep around for a stiff wind or large flys... 8wt will serve you well on the flats or in marsh.... 2 piece rods are great... they are cheaper (less joints) still easy to store and less joints to come apart... when one of the 4 joints starts backing out and you cast... SNAP! you only have one joint to check with 2 piece... if you travel on a plane or hike into the mountains and need a rod that will fit into a back pack, then 4 piece..... ty
works well... good will $2.99! the trick is to get one that only has that one strap... then you can spin it around to your chest and dig in it... works well on the flats...ty
I know you probably don't want anyone to know exactly where your honey hole was, but the TX coast is approx 400 miles long, and not all is wadeable. Was this walk-in access or did you boat in? If I had to guess, I'd say you're at Port A.... B&R flats?
Sailing those fly lines in the Skinny stuff . I see you chasing Reds Texas style on the Fly. You know here is what I say " Were sure lucky Red fish don't bite ....cause we'd be in stitches every weekend. " Congrats on that super close hook up ........thats what its all about ! ! ! WHAAAT !!!!!

@tyonthefly how far would an average fly cast on the flats wading be?
redscarf11 1 year ago
close.... 10-30 yards....
tyonthefly 11 months ago
@tyonthefly how far do you think i can cast with a 8 wt wading in the flats? with 8 wt line.
redscarf11 1 year ago
depends on the caster..... if you can double haul you can cast all 90' + of your fly line...ty
