Another Christina haha, but i actually went, aweeesome. Anyways, good review. Pretty much sums it up. Was one amazing show, Opeths 3 hours, fuckin killed me, not an inch of space around me and thrown in the pit, so I was sweating baaaaalls. Both bands were fuckin killer though !
I've made it a rule not to see sacred bands with ANYONE.. unless they "get it" and can shut the fuck up so I can soak up my favourite performances. Srsly.. I enjoy seeing Opeth by myself. And I don't think I'll ever change that now that I've allowed myself to be absorbed in the experience. Nothing counts down your live Opeth minutes faster than some tosspot yelling in your ear about last years concert...blah blah. I'm there for Opeth, and nothing else. I can party at all the other shows.
Really? seemed fine to me, then again I couldn't stay in the pit for very long because of the combination of being in pain from getting bit by a dog at work, and forgetting my belt.
awesome, keep watching the reviews (subscribe if you feel so inclined too). And don't be afraid to say hi next time, just mention that you watched my Youtube reviews, I love meeting new people at metal shows.
Opeth did a show at the Sound Academy last year, they had this band called Deathmarch open for them. I was near the front that time, no pit at all. They were so generic, nothing unique about their sound at all. The next band was called 3, they're a prog rock, as in nothing even close to heavy metal, yet they created a much bigger pit than Deathmarch. I thought that was pretty funny.
lol no she didn't come (Note the names I mentioned "Katelyn and Cristina" Katelyn is the one that elbowed you at paganfest, she couldn't afford a ticket tonight)
If you'll notice, I mentioned that I only know one song by Enslaved, and no songs by Opeth, so I didn't get the setlist. Simply because, not only did I not know most of the songs, I couldn't clearly discern the name of the songs. I try though, after a while I just give up lol. Keep watching my reviews though, maybe someday I'll manage a setlist.
lol, forgot..sorry, I watched the review yesterday night and forgot you mentioned you did not know any of the songs..well...any funny moments from Mike of opeth?
dude... the funny moments alone would've been worth the cost of the ticket.. if the guy wasn't one of the best death metal vocalists in the world, he'd definitely be a comedian. The one that stands out (that I really should've mentioned) is that he got the entire crowd to sing "the summer of '69" by Bryan Adams. It was epic.
Set list according to the Opeth forums: Heir Apparent Ghost of Perdition Godhead's Lament The Leper Affinity Credence Hessian Peel Closure The Night and the Silent Water The Lotus Eater Encore: Deliverance epic set list, can't wait.
This was my first show ever and it was soooooooooooooooooooooooooo fuckin good.

Opeth, wasn't on SOTU '07. Opeth had a headlining tour in May 2008, except it was the 24th, hahaha. but, still it was a sick as hell show.
