I am going to post a duet with friend on the lead parts for this, probably within 1-2 weeks so check it out. I love this one and I'm no Angel by Greg Allman too.
I just started looking at your videos, even if you don't sing perhaps, the lessons and the strumming is really nice, good work. I just started posting my youtubes and I like alot the of songs you picked too.
For years I used to hold the bass with my thumb when playing the F#M and G#M. One day I left the low E open. Sounded like a nicer voicing of the chord to me.
I've been watching your videos now for about six months and its great to have someone freely give their expertise to fellow guitarists. BTW you should put a banner on your dog and have him walk back and forth during your videos, perhaps plugging Gibson products, you know just to make it a little more commercial like google :D
The chord progession looks similar to "All Things Must Pass". Are the 2 chords after E an F# minor and a G# minor? Are there any open strings when you are playing them? Thanks.
@cspagnoli Very similar to All Things... I don't know the names of those chords, but they're F#m and G#m with the B and E strings open. In fact, the B and E ring open for most of the chords in this one, except during the middle 8.
you could be a rocker man , join a band , you will be pure gold .

Great tune and as always, great job...... I noticed your wonderful Pup sneak into the picture, trying to get some attention from the master

i think i read somewhere that Gregg was in a grocery store one day and there was this little girl there with her mother.
and the mother yelled Melissa get over here.
i think thats where this song comes from.
i think it was in randy poe's book called skydog the Duane allman story.
you should check it out, its really good.

Nothing quite like the sweet sounds of an acoustic guitar, esp a Gibson... nicely done. :)

@Guildguy2 Thanks for the kind words. How about posting a tune played on your Guild? That's one guitar I don't have in the stable yet.
