@casanova999999999999 You dont have to play the first game in order to play gw2, the large thing is that you can unlock some (really) neat things and titles if you have played gw1 for some time :)

Try and search for Halls Of Monuments and you should find a link to where you can see all the unlocks and titles :)

a response to your question, no you do not need gw1 to play gw2 but, it does help, there's a tie in with gw1-gw2, the hall of monuments, with enough of the monuments filled out in gw1, you can earn yourself rewards that will come into play in gw2, and the names of your heroes will be reserved for your use from one game to the other

I use game wikis for when I want to do missions quickly or check what the bonus is, apart from that I attempt not to use wikis at all for GW. I think it adds a great deal of roleplaying aspect to the game (as it will in GW2) if people attempt to avoid wikis altogether. Of course people will still create the articles and people will still use them but make the game more fun for yourself - explore and discover on your own without the help of a wiki. I'll be there with you :D

well, since you keep your skill level for jobs that you change, you can always change back and make stuff, so with enough time, you could make your own armor, weapons then when you don't need to make it anymore, you can swap to cooking, and start leveling that up, if you need armor or weapons later, you can switch back and make something :P

personally i think i'll go armor and weapons, just so i can use the stuff i make as skins for the gear i collect :P

You say that you can only have 2 diciplines at a time but Eric Flammun said that you can do all kinds of diciplines at the same time.

@FarryEntertainment you have to basically deactivate a profession to pick up another, you can eventually master everything but you can only have 2 active at the same time

@adzaa Someone from ArenaNet really said that they don't want you to stick with 2 professions (diciplines) as on other MMO's. He said that you are able to do mine nods, gather plants, make weaopons, make poptions all at the same time. I'm not 100% sure though.

@GuildWarsCommunity From what I've read the harvesting skills are seperate, and your quite right they do want you to switch I have definately read that you can only have two of the craftings active at once though these are changeable for a fee, so its a bit of a money sink but everyone will be able to participate in all of them as you say.

Lol this video was from gamescon 2010, when the guardian wasn't released. The human npcs fighting in this are guardians, I wonder why no one noticed that before its release?
