Theres nothing wrong with DH biking guys.. Some people cant afford to own and take of dirt bikes. The average motocross bike now adays is like 10K+.. And the economy sucks. Im a motocross guy for sure but even I will admit that some of the things downhillers do.. Takes some serious balls. They are both pretty hardcore sport IMHO..

And you can get a decent moto x bike for 2-3 grand, which isnt far off a top of the range downhill bike if im correct? I mean, mx vs DH, i think mx is easily more badass and dangerous.

to start downhilling you don't need the top of the line - I am riding with like $300 worth of gear doing mild stuff (will go a bit more serious if I get more protection).

to start motocross, I need at least $2000 for the motorcycle, even more gear than in the most extreme DH scenario, and there's car insurance, petrol, expensive repairs that I can't do myself...

not to mention all but enduro is illegal here!

it's no wonder I'm on a bicycle.
