My horse does the same thing, is your horse young? its really common in younger horses
just try half halts when you feel your horse speeding up, not too strong so they break down into the trot/walk. and make sure like milkandcookies said, that your not gripping with your legs.
i have the same problem too sometimes, especially on jittery horses. just try give lots of strong half halts so your horse will pay more attention to you, and make sure you're not gripping him with his legs. haha that's what i do when i get nervous, so it just makes the horse go faster! hope i helped :D
also, stick your but deep in the saddle, shoulders back, and use your tummy muscles to slow your seat and keep the booty in the saddle
