I noticed this too. The ending also seems to have been moved up an octave? I don't know, it might have been my ears, but for the firsts [I'm playing it this year], it's almost completely identical to the beginning, except for the ending. i dunno, maybe I'm going crazy, but it just sounded that way to me. ^^;

Nope it's not your ears, we were indeed told to play it an octave higher. But only about half of the first violins did it though, everyone else played it as written.
