To MrMcMusic: I hear ya. I guess our music professors have two different opinions. My college professor taught my class something different. I was always taught the way YOUR professors taught YOU. OMG! They are awesome! The harmony is great! And BTW it's alto, soprano, tenor and baritone (not bass). Bass is the sound of an instrument (bass guitar, bass drums, etc.).

I know many a college voice professors and classical vocalists who would strongly disagree with your definition. Baritone is a musical range which, vocally, falls between what is typically referred to as 2nd tenor and the lowest vocal range, BASS! There are bass range voices just as there are baritone range horns
