  • Is this where Mormons come from?

  • @yersubconscious Nope. The shakers are anabaptists which is a denomination that arose during the protestant reformation. Today's mennonites come from this tradition, NOT mormons...

  • @kalakady8 That's silly because they're all crazy. Make nice songs 'n that, though.

  • @yersubconscious Ha, nah...just the mormons.

  • the tempo change is kinda awkward... overall, AWESOME

  • I'm singing this in my chorus class as a solo piece. Lucky me! :D

  • this beautiful;! =...]

  • I LOVE CHRISTENS TAYS BEAIFULS!!!!

  • SHAKER VARIANTS

  • im in a childrens chorus and were singing this at our holiday concert

  • great so beautiful!!!!!

  • I heard these guys before. They sing at the Epcot Center at DisneyWorld.

  • Good Old Fashion songs with meaning for lyrics & thoughts. It's just simple : )

  • Man, they're the best. Tiff is great whether she's belting it or singin' easy.

  • I really like Voices of Liberty, but I have heard some pretty wretched recordings of them. Live they are simply amazing.

  • @lcsingin4christ You should pick up Christmas in Velvet 5. Life changing.

  • My favorite arrangement of this song.

  • VANGARD, 09' WOO!!

  • Wow! Beautiful!

  • i LOVE LOVE LOVEEEEE THIS VERSION!

  • haha I have to learn this song cause I'm trying out for the All State Junior Chorus in my area...I need to hear just the alto part for this, however, cause there are some parts I don't think I have right yet. :/

BUT otherwisee, this is a beautiful piece (:

  • were learning this song in chorus and it's awesome

  • Oh my goodness. The harmonizing blew me away. :] This is beautiful.

  • I remember this song from catholic mass as a child.

  • Voices of Liberty at Epcot at Walt Disney World....The building is the American Show case

  • These singers are beautiful! Thank you very much for sharing this gorgeous music with us.

  • the lady in the very right. has a beutiful voice and gown!! omg its veryyyyyyyyyyy beautiful!!!! her hair also.

  • Who is the arranger?

  • the arranger is Derric Johnson

  • what's with their clothes?

  • Not real simple, eh? But, beautiful gowns, I think. .

  • What happened to come around right, come around right, come around right lol that is what we do in my chorus class haha

  • were singing this in my choir, except it's SSAA

    i LOVE this version tho!!!

  • i just love the voicing i sure did enjoy this one ...

  • To MrMcMusic: I hear ya. I guess our music professors have two different opinions. My college professor taught my class something different. I was always taught the way YOUR professors taught YOU. I was quite surprised when she said that. But all I can do is go by what she says (so that I can pass her tests). Anyway, MrMcMusic I hope you enjoyed the video. I sure did.

  • OMG! They are awesome! The harmony is great! And BTW it's alto, soprano, tenor and baritone (not bass). Bass is the sound of an instrument (bass guitar, bass drums, etc.).

  • I know many a college voice professors and classical vocalists who would strongly disagree with your definition. Baritone is a musical range which, vocally, falls between what is typically referred to as 2nd tenor and the lowest vocal range, BASS! There are bass range voices just as there are baritone range horns

  • i already saw this at disney

  • sounds glorious

  • is that at Epcot?!

  • yeah i can't believe i actually recognized that room lol

  • Where was this performed? It looks like the Abraham Lincoln presidental library museum.

  • disney world

  • Great performance!

  • I'm singing this, siyahamba, masters in this hall, blessing, and alleluya (SE) sing for joy

  • yea, this was my corps song in 08 with Revolution Drum and Bugle Corps almost bring me to tears just singing it again.

  • dude we both marched revo together. its me bj

  • Aww man this song makes me cry. i marched with a Drum Corp over the summer and after each performance we would huddle togehter and all sing this song. it is our corp song. it makes me want to tear just hearing this

  • Who are they?

  • I mean, I know they're the Voices of Liberty but why are they dressed like that?

  • They are from the Revolutionary era, and are dressed in period costume.

  • Listen closely and you'll notice that they totally ripped the melody from weezer's "The Greatest Man That Ever Lived"! You're not fooling anyone Voices of Liberty!!

  • So hopefully you were kidding. ;-)

  • Simple Gifts was written by Shaker Elder Joseph Brackett, Jr. in 1848. So I think that predates Weezer.

  • I jsy sung this song in my concert like 30 minutes ago! It was sort of a boring song

  • Goosebumps, this was so good.

  • i saw them they were awsome

  • American Pavilion at Disney World, Orlando.

  • you must mean Soprano, Alto, Tenor, and Bass because that's who they are arranged

  • I DID THIS IN HIGH SCHOOL!!

  • I really like this group's seamless combination of classic and more recent harmonic structures. Very nice arrangments. Well done!
