This from around the time that Jan walked into the Greensides pub in Hartlepool where I was leaning on the bar waiting for the rest of my mates and said dead matter of fact like after he had ordered the drinks while chatting to me ...... you must not be british `cos all the great stuff from the 80`s was completly ignored by british tv and radio, if Gillan, Maiden, Saxon, `dc,`snake - et-al were relying on the uk for a living, they and thier families would have starved!! thank god for the USA (can`t believe I just typed that) and Europe who kept these bands going!! mainstream uk had Adam ant(where are they now???), duran (shite) duran, Kaja-fuckin-googoo!! don`t get me started!!!!!!!!!

well, the rest of the band thought IG was ripping them off, whereas IG says he was subsidising the band (and ruining himself financially in the process) as they were losing money...up to you who you believe, but John McCoy, Colin Townes, Mick Underwood and Bernie Torme I don't think have a very good opinion of old IG, pity as the band was really excellent - and New Orleans was by far their best single IMHO
