Suggestion: Put a small drop of Gumtack (blue sticking gum) under your minis when you put them on a plastified map: they wont move if the table is shaken. :)
Are there any D&D Table Tips beyond Part 1? Can't seem to locate if so, and if not it would be pretty great to take up where you left off in this one - lots of good stuff, thanks!
If you guys like D&D then you will definitely looove this webseries called Walking In Cirlces! Its an epic adventure about dragons n stuff! Check it out if you get some time! youtube/wictheseries
And for enough pieces so that other pieces don't have to be moved and re-used repeatedly in the same adventure, IT IS Expensive!!!! Good ideas too-Try fish aquarium and electric train accessories from hobby shops and pet stores. Scratched CD's make great templates too. Just a few thoughts..
Great tips, might just want to slow down a bit haha. I've used several of these myself in the past and currently; my PC's always love them (except the egg timer, which I have never heard an argument against from someone who was waiting for their turn, only when they lost it cause they took too long, but I digress). Keep up the great work!
I use the bottle rings but i use them just for the DM and i have the players use Hair bands. My daughter she is 3 and i saw them and well had to buy more. Very usful in many colors.
This is awesome. I like the pipe cleaner idea but the pop bottle one doesn't work as well for me. I use guitar picks that I toss under characters. They stick out enough for you to notice them but they don't get in the way or fall off.
Love the series, good work. My group uses the pipe cleans bent into rings for status markers the same way you use your bottle caps. Hadn't thought about using them for AoE effects though, that's great.
I also love your idea of the egg timer and the +1 bonuses, there are a couple of players in my group who take a long long time to do anything and I think this is a great way to make them hurry up. :D
Thanks, I'll definitely make use of some of these tips :D I already use bottle rings, but I think I'll grab a pack of poker chips for action points and plus ones, I think they'll be great visual reminders. Looking forward to the next one.
I'm curious about those tabs hanging on the screen now :P I'm also wondering what you do for generic minis for minions and other monsters that you'd like to appear uniform.
you sound like a lot of fun to play with! im stealing all your ideas! lol

Great ideas. Please stop swinging the camera around so much; that's not kind on the eyes.

Awesome! I like the idea that you reward fast people! I play with a bunch of slow people and the DM doesn't punish them... haha

Great and very practical time-saving tips! And actually showing how they are used is actual play is fantastic. More please!

This was great. I think you rushed a little too much, but most of these ideas I'm gonna copy. They're great and simple, but most importantly cheap.

Like what you have done so far. Keep going. Agree with Janonkulis. Dont rush it. You can always do more takes and then wipe the ones you dont like :)

1) Don't rush it, man.
2) You can try shooting it a few times and/or practice the text beforehand. We will not know that you did it, we will only hear less "em" and "uh".
3) Nice work, subscribed to your blog rss.

The bottle rings are brilliant. I use Zombie Poker Tour poker chips for action points becuz they have nice artwork on 'em.
