VFX used YouTube to pitch his donation scam and has begun asking for money again. He should NOT be coming back before he pays Sick Kids Hospital the funds he promised and then pocketed.

VFX had better be aware that section 512 of the DMCA could be used against him. It's a good thing, he thinks, that he's a Canadian citizen so punishments won't occur for him, since the DMCA is a US law.

I'm a bit tired of people saying ' sue his ass'. We've looked into this extensively filling a legal claim would be a mess of epic proportions. Due to the the fact that the TOU require any claims to be filed in California, VFX living in *******, DPR Jones living in a different country and The ISP, god knows where (and their reluctance to cooperate). Filing a proper suit is nigh on impossible if not financial suicide.

It seems to me that mirroring and rating is our best weapon.

This could also backfire. If it is taken to court and he is convicted of perjury (and hopefully of fraud re: donations), his fundie friends might distance themselves from him like the plague.

"Oh he was never a true christian! I knew it all along!", "He was probably really an atheist. Only an atheist would do evil things like that!", etc.

This would very likely happen if things turned tragic, and he did something terrible like Tony48219 (or whatever the numbers were).

I doubt a court case is manageable in this case (multinationality, international law, costs etc.)

But even if, the many similar cases in the evangelical movement show that most of their former community will just re-embrace any fraud, cheater, hypocrite and criminal. They don't relize their cognitive dissonance. They started out believing the "True Christian" because TCs can't lie. Then after the scandal, they forget about that and re-embrace the guy because he's now a "really True Christian".
