    that honda had WAY less torque and way less hp and look how close that race was, that is honda engineering, taking 4 cylinder engines with less displacement, torque, and horsepower and making them run nearly as fast as other cars with more hp, tq, and cylinders.

  • the fastest a stock twin turbo z run in a 1/4 is 13.8 and the s2000 is 14.0 so for a .2 difference either car can win. But I give props to honda for a 4cyl. na keeping up with a twin turbo v6

  • i got a friend that wants me to paint his 300. Such a nice car that i used all the profit i was gonna make off the labor to buy a brand new clear gun just to make it flawless. I own a s2000 myself we both respect and love each others cars. He can definitely take me drag race with his TT. But i can always pass him down that curvy mountain road we both live by. You cant have the best of both worlds sadly.

  • the launch off perfect the s2000 is slower than the z the reason it keep up with the z cause its lighter than the z but in a straight long run the z gonna pull away faster by about 10 cars cause it has more torque the s2000 would stay on the z at the start

  • @Cal100x35 Automatic is a better choice if your running TT it better for the turbos. Auto are the better choice as long as your willing to deal with not being able to shift gears at will. But 5 speed better for him as his is N/A. I know im going to get flamed for this but i done a lot research before saying this. Thats why i chose my 300ZX 2+2 auto with TT conversion. Little better handling in my option with 2+2, but boost perfectly with the auto, and with a shift kit and a converter its godly.

    S2K= 240HP WT 2800 lbs.

  • Yeah, look at my other video's and you will see it's a TT slicktop. Also, I'm not sure you guys read that the car was running shit, timing all to hell and injector connectors that were brittle and crappy. After this video and after fixing the car the S2000 had no chance at all.

  • Please don't forget the 300 was not running right. There was hesitation during WOT, we raced the same S2K on the streets a few weeks later and it didn't stand a chance. The 300 walked the S2K.

I could take my 454 ci 68 RS/SS Camaro and eat the 300ZX for lunch all day long. Would that be a real test? Of course not. 1 star

  • Its not all about displacement and cylinders its about grip and power to weight ratio. You could take you 454 ci 68 RS/SS Camaro out but if the 300 has a better Power to weight you'd be a goner + the 300 could have a better drag coefficient meaning it will have a better top speed if you have same specs.

  • i love all the nissan fanboys in here. ANYWAYZ, here are the facts. nissan gave the 300zx 1L more displacement than the s2k and gave it 2 turbos. IT JUST BARELY OUTRUNS THE S2K IN A STRAIGHT LINE. wouldnt handle for shit against it in corners. for the 350z, nissan had to give it 1.5L of displacement and revised a new engine aka VQ-series. the s2k's still able to keep up with its unchanged 2.0L 4-banger N/A or the more current 2.2L 4-banger. either way, its a 4 banger thats keepin up. haterz

  • 1st off: My NA Z has keept up with stock S2000s. 2nd off an S2000 will get walked hard by a TT. 3rd off S2000s will never gain 100HP from I/E/ECU like a TTZ can.

  • well actually, all vtec does is keep your valves open for a split second longer then it nomrally would to take in a little more air/fuel. slightly increases power. nothing to special.

  • I'm more than likely going to get a 300 in the next couple of months, but don't underestimate the S2K. I've seen some that have murdered anything on the street. I know this sounds really ricerish but don't underestimate the vtec engine. At first it might not really be that great but it revs up to 9000 RPM so turbo + chipped + VTEC = some major win. Personally thought I like the Z because there is more low end tq.

  • all vtec is is a gas saving design, just cus ur car is vtec doesnt mean your car is all mighty and all powerful...

  • No incorrect VTEC makes your engine more efficient that in turn makes you have more mpg when your just driving around and when you want to floor it you will be able to rev to 9000 rpm so this makes this little 4 banger and a kick ass engine.

  • vtec engines aren't the only engines that rev up to 9,000. my car is still slow as fuck. just sick of people praising vtec. it's not cool

  • also the 89 Z32 TT was the production year stamped on the car, and sold as 90 models in 1990. The stamp on the car just tell when it was made, not sold. Usually all cars are produced a year before sold.

  • I'd replace the turbo's! I got a 2.3 Prelude that will leave the 2.2 S2000 also. With a Twin turbo 3.0 and a suspected intake/ exhaust, you should leave the s2000 by about a 1/4 to 1/2 of the track distance.

  • If you look a few comment up I do mention the car running like shit that day. It was misfiring and not pulling at all. It's a beast now.

  • 300's are a bit heavy that's the only disadvantage. I thought my modded NA could at least keep up with an S2000... I was pinned uphill @ 115MPH and one passed me with an intake+exhaust.

  • They (S2000's) will give you a run for your money. I respect them for what they are if you compare them to cars in their class. Our 300's are getting older and older so you have to respect that too.

  • Are you unable to read? I already had 472whp. While yes an rb26 can put down massive amounts of power over that, that was good plenty for me. But no need to argue I dont even own an s2000 anymore. I have a KB supercharged Corvette now with 560whp@6.5-7psi. If i feel like i need more i can change the pully and be putting down around 700 on the stock internals.

  • Are you smoking crack? I own both right now an s2000 and a 300zx. While being ALOT more difficult to work on, the parts for the 300zx are WAY cheaper for what you get and ALOT more plentiful. For instance, replacement engine for s2k 3K+, replacement engine for 300z 1K. 300z reprogramed ecu 500, new ecu or standalone for s2k 1500+.

  • I thought the Z models up to 89 was single turbo. The 90 up to 96 has the VG30DETT or the VG30DE for the N/A's.

  • no, 2+2 means it has rear seats.

  • Some NA's are 2+2's, some are 2 seaters. All of the Slicktop NA's (non T-Top) are 2 seaters.

  • Yes it is a TT, the car was running like crap that day. We had to change and work on a few things under the hood, but it walks that S2000 now.
