i got a friend that wants me to paint his 300. Such a nice car that i used all the profit i was gonna make off the labor to buy a brand new clear gun just to make it flawless. I own a s2000 myself we both respect and love each others cars. He can definitely take me drag race with his TT. But i can always pass him down that curvy mountain road we both live by. You cant have the best of both worlds sadly.
the launch off perfect the s2000 is slower than the z the reason it keep up with the z cause its lighter than the z but in a straight long run the z gonna pull away faster by about 10 cars cause it has more torque the s2000 would stay on the z at the start

@Cal100x35 Automatic is a better choice if your running TT it better for the turbos. Auto are the better choice as long as your willing to deal with not being able to shift gears at will. But 5 speed better for him as his is N/A. I know im going to get flamed for this but i done a lot research before saying this. Thats why i chose my 300ZX 2+2 auto with TT conversion. Little better handling in my option with 2+2, but boost perfectly with the auto, and with a shift kit and a converter its godly.

Its not all about displacement and cylinders its about grip and power to weight ratio. You could take you 454 ci 68 RS/SS Camaro out but if the 300 has a better Power to weight you'd be a goner + the 300 could have a better drag coefficient meaning it will have a better top speed if you have same specs.

well actually, all vtec does is keep your valves open for a split second longer then it nomrally would to take in a little more air/fuel. slightly increases power. nothing to special.
I'm more than likely going to get a 300 in the next couple of months, but don't underestimate the S2K. I've seen some that have murdered anything on the street. I know this sounds really ricerish but don't underestimate the vtec engine. At first it might not really be that great but it revs up to 9000 RPM so turbo + chipped + VTEC = some major win. Personally thought I like the Z because there is more low end tq.
No incorrect VTEC makes your engine more efficient that in turn makes you have more mpg when your just driving around and when you want to floor it you will be able to rev to 9000 rpm so this makes this little 4 banger and a kick ass engine.
And then we all take a peek in Road & Track (a non-biased third party) and see the numbers all these cars are capable of. The S2k isn't slow when compared to a Z.
Shut the hell up! The S2K compared to the Twin Turbo Z is junk! You compare the 350Z and the S2K and you have a slightly better match up but the Z still comes out on top. Compare a 90's honda to the 90's Z and tell me who is on top. You cant take a car that is over a decade newer and praise it for beating a stock car that is 16 or 17 years old.
I got a tt car with a good motor and turbo for that and i i did the swap on my car. Believe the expensive thing is doing the mod not the motor parts specially from the dealer are quite expensive
HELL no the mazda 6 isnt faster than an s2000 not even the mazdaspeed 6 with turbo and AWD is. The fastest mazda 6 is 14.5 stock. The fastest S2K 13.8 stock. Not even a race my friend.
also the 89 Z32 TT was the production year stamped on the car, and sold as 90 models in 1990. The stamp on the car just tell when it was made, not sold. Usually all cars are produced a year before sold.
I'd replace the turbo's! I got a 2.3 Prelude that will leave the 2.2 S2000 also. With a Twin turbo 3.0 and a suspected intake/ exhaust, you should leave the s2000 by about a 1/4 to 1/2 of the track distance.
300's are a bit heavy that's the only disadvantage. I thought my modded NA could at least keep up with an S2000... I was pinned uphill @ 115MPH and one passed me with an intake+exhaust.
They (S2000's) will give you a run for your money. I respect them for what they are if you compare them to cars in their class. Our 300's are getting older and older so you have to respect that too.

Unless you are turbo im calling bull shit on that one. Your 2.3 prelude with bolt ons is good for what maybe 160whp(since thats chp stock) where my BONE STOCK s2000 put 207 to the wheels. When turbo the power becomes crazy, 472whp@17.5psi. Check out my vid on just 6psi.
Are you unable to read? I already had 472whp. While yes an rb26 can put down massive amounts of power over that, that was good plenty for me. But no need to argue I dont even own an s2000 anymore. I have a KB supercharged Corvette now with 560whp@6.5-7psi. If i feel like i need more i can change the pully and be putting down around 700 on the stock internals.
Paying less than $300/6 mos. with State Farm for the 91 300ZX TT liability only since full coverage is hard to get for cars this old anyways. Not bad at all, I think.

Are you smoking crack? I own both right now an s2000 and a 300zx. While being ALOT more difficult to work on, the parts for the 300zx are WAY cheaper for what you get and ALOT more plentiful. For instance, replacement engine for s2k 3K+, replacement engine for 300z 1K. 300z reprogramed ecu 500, new ecu or standalone for s2k 1500+.

Are you smoking crack? I own both right now an s2000 and a 300zx. While being ALOT more difficult to work on, the parts for the 300zx are WAY cheaper for what you get and ALOT more plentiful. For instance, replacement engine for s2k 3K+, replacement engine for 300z 1K. 300z reprogramed ecu 500, new ecu or standalone for s2k 1500+.

well dere is a few fairladys here in auckland, even though i dunno much abt dem bt still one thing i have seen dat on oder fairladys da speedo meter goes to 180km/h bt on mine it goes 300km/hr i tried it up to 240 kz .. bdw its 89 ZTT do u hav any idea.. it also got Zsport on some places oder fairladys dont so jst wanna kno da diff if u hav any idea

I thought the Z models up to 89 was single turbo. The 90 up to 96 has the VG30DETT or the VG30DE for the N/A's.

Nope, it's a 2 seater. I believe the N/A's have rear seats...I could be wrong though?

no, 2+2 means it has rear seats.

Some NA's are 2+2's, some are 2 seaters. All of the Slicktop NA's (non T-Top) are 2 seaters.

Yes it is a TT, the car was running like crap that day. We had to change and work on a few things under the hood, but it walks that S2000 now.
