  • At the Berlin’s Suicide Prevention Center, about 40% of 3,000 suicide-prone patients suffered from “ecclesiogenic neurosis” arising from guilt feelings induced by their religious training.

And Berlin is not even that religious.

Hope those preaching, threatening monsters aren't ably to sleep at night.

  • Now that I thought about this again, I have an objection to Matt's claim that people who have overcome problems without calling on God proves He is a non-factor. Just because someone didn't call on God doesn't mean He did nothing! In fact, we would expect help for all specifically from the Christian God, and this also threatens the inconsistency argument. So, think about it: just because you're doing fine without God in your life doesn't mean He isn't helping you. He's just waiting to be found.

  • 3:45 I hear this all too often. Matt does admit that he would own up to the mistake, but then says God could have been clearer. For one, this is a two-faced statement. It is presumptuous to think that any excuse has any chance of surviving after complete revelation of everything that has ever happened from a being who knows every event, every thought and every motive. That's not a chance I would want to take.

  • @quadrupleplay Very well said.

  • @cyclelt89 You think that every single atheist is unhappy? Do you have evidence

to support that scathing generalization? Of course you do not, you talk without evidence and without knowledge and with only blind faith, which is a trademark of most theists.

  • I just heard the lady call in, and I wonder why, the two atheists need you, you do not need them. Atheists have no life, unless they can express their contempt for people of Faith. For if atheists were fullfilled, they would not speak one word about God or Christ, and thats all they talk about. Nor would they bother about people of faith. I should not bother with them, the clip was in my face when open U-T, I musunderstood. I thought it was about an atheist that found Christ. Take care.

There are many exceptions to your comment, but one off the top of my head (for the sake of brevity) is publisher Bill M. Gaines. For 40 years he published MAD Magazine, very funny and insightful reading material . It is silly, but it focuses on observational humor. Most of his original staff was Jewish, but his Atheism never interfered with his making the world think and laugh, until his death in 1992. It continues to this day; his life was laughter and fun.

  • i love pot wtffffff.

  • @MrEmeraldfusion He does not. He has given you a choice to believe, you are rejecting him putting yourself in hell. God wants you to be with him in heaven, that is why he created us.

  • @elibeth121 -Yes, I repent of any comments I ever made against The Lord Jesus Christ, and The Heavenly Father. I believe in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Atheism is dead Jesus Christ is the risen savior.

  • My story of hope is: I was a Bible-banging religious fanatic for over 30 years. Gradually, as I learned how illogical and untenable the religious story really is, I began to lose my belief in it. One day, I realized that I no longer believed in it. I said aloud: "Holy shit! I'm an atheist!" At that moment, a great sense of relief passed through me as I realized that there was no God to judge me, no Hell to burn in and that it's okay to be human. Hallelujah!

  • @Christheatheist1 and Jesus said that he's closer to peole who are trying to figure it out rather than those who profess to judge what pure love and hope is. I don't claim to know what you know of hope. I asked a question. Right now I don't think I can see any answer from what you just said..but I did see something of what hope might be. like you're upset that you didn't 'find' anything to add to yourself?...from me????

  • @thunderwithrain - Upset? LOL! No. I don't get upset about superstitions. I get the impression that English is not your first language. Either that or you are a functional illiterate. Either way, your disjointed diatribe isn't very convincing.

  • @Christheatheist1 well I did get an honorary phd in Literature for my painting which was told to me was honour enough or something.... but I'm not here to really convince you that you're now upset? I guess I got bored after you said I was insane in the first place. nuff said to you I think? You stopped listening to chance I guess. Yep, Thanks St. Max Kolbe!

  • @thunderwithrain - Thanks for confirming that you're a fruit loop.

  • @Christheatheist1 confirming to who? you? bored now....and I thought Christians turned the other cheek a lot but guess what? I'm not a Christian according to you either because I'm not turning the other cheek on this one. Atheists seem to be the most guarded lot that the first thing they say is that you're insane if you don't agree with them. and that's as fluffy as I'm going to get from what I just saw here. Maybe form a coven to whorship Hitchen's who insults more than listens to women?Enough!

  • what's your story of hope? My story of hope is about one family and it's called the Bible. Death is a lie because only love creates. If love creates then what is pure love then? What's pure hope? If I see my family as a symbol of hope that is with me by accident and nieghbours are the same then who made that happen or did that just 'happen' to make what? What is a good life? hope and love? Just say the idea that God = pure hope & love and everything else is oblivion + chaos then I'll be happy.

  • @thunderwithrain - You seem insane. Or possible deeply confused. Get help ASAP

  • @Christheatheist1 That is usually said by people who can't debate out of a paper bag NEXT!

  • @thunderwithrain I really didn't get what you were talking about :/ I didn't understood your point of view. You wrote it in a very confusing way. Can you sum it up?

  • @FluffyAthiest The Bible is about one family's story. It's about hope/love on a journey. I know I was created in hope, ultimately and I know I'm loved in my family.

I hope I know pure love and hope with last forever more than anything else. I think God must be pure love and hope.

  • @thunderwithrain That was not the impression I got when I read the Bible. But if you interpreted that way, fine :) I only have problem with theist that think atheists are evil and want to pass laws so they can impose theirs beliefs on us. I'm all for love and equality. But i dont believe that comes from a god, it comes from us humans.

  • @FluffyAthiest The Bible is a family story to many. I think you answered my question in part...with humanity it's based on family first. Worms are male & female...but I know what you mean by one individual can change the lives of many others for good or bad...and to me it's how people know what they see I guess. If you meet a good person how do you know they are truly good? If you met a good person what would you do?

  • @FluffyAthiest As an atheist you should at least write "atheist" properly.

  • @ThreeLions89 Where? On my nickname? It was already taken -.- Why you gotta troll?

  • @FluffyAthiest I`m not trolling but as an educated atheist I`d like to see that word written properly.

    Greets.

  • @ThreeLions89 Just because you and I are atheists doesn't mean we HAVE to write properly, 1 c0uld wr1t3 l1k3 th1$, $0 wh@t¿
