  • most of the time that stuff in the glass you see them sipping on that looks like scotch is actually apple juice. Dean actually told of this in an interview that I saw

  • I have watched most of Foster Brooks Roasts on YOUTUBE and he is very talented. He knew how to delevery jokes and punch lines without having to be crude or lewd or use profanity. He will be missed!

  • Love the running gag "are you .... too?" This time a warden. They do the same about the airline pilot.

  • Foster Brooks is in character here.

  • This is one of the saddest peiods in American Television . What a giant rip off

  • foster brooks never dran k in his life its such a great act. the reason someone would think he was drunk is because there is no one out there today with foster,s comedic talent

  • I don't get any of these jokes.

  • @BringBRToTheUK truman capote was gay

  • @210daved1 I knew that, and I still didn't understand them.

  • Lol @ anyone thinking that wasn't an act. Sure, he showed up to every single roast that drunk. Sometimes he fell down, and people laughed hysterically. You really think that would have been the case if he was actually smashed? It's called physical comedy, pratfalling, acting. Please tell me you're trolling.

  • bwaahahahahaha - foster was the best!

  • These were funny funny men. Their comedy was never cruel-it was just damn funny!

  • Kim Delaney's inspiration.

  • ChowhowCommando....Foster Brooks was NEVER drunk, this was his "act". These roasts were an hour long and were hilarious !

  • @DatrixTheSerpentWolf Si, yo capisco. Sta stanco

  • @LaffTherapy Thanks for posting this videos of the late great, Foster Brooks. This was funny to me as a kid growing up in the 70's and now i'm in my mid 40's, they're still funny to me (only thing is now, i get the jokes). The baby boomers had their golden era of tv in the 50's but this is my golden era of tv. Thank you again, very very VERY much for posting this videos. Makes me miss my childhood and my parents more and more!

  • In real Foster was a former lush but yep the character is an act. THAT"S entertainment! I LOVE my old time comdians!

  • All he had to do was stand there and the people would bust out. GENIUS !

  • The funniest drunk act ever. Its' all he did- and it was always the funniest part of the show.

  • I remember my grandma going into hysterics when it was Foster's turn and no, he didn't drink. His license plate read "TETOTLR" (that's Tea Totaller, ask your granny what that means).

  • OMG he was so FUNNY! I can still see and hear my late mother screaming at his dialogues!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • and to believe him and dean martin rarely actually drank alchohal and all of this was all an act. its just hilariaius

  • The roasts they put on today are a joke. That fat women who thinks she is the second coming of Totie Fields is a disgusting pig. All she jokes about is having sex with black guys. She has absolutely no class.

  • @ChowHallCommando It's his act. Click on the Playlist button to see more of him.

  • @LaffTherapy

Sorry chowhall, should have read your answer first, but I'm stoned.

  • @LaffTherapy

Oops, should have typed lafftherapy. Got any Doritos?

  • @ChowHallCommando He didn't drink.

  • @ChowHallCommando Foster Brooks was completely sober during all of these roasts. He was a former alcoholic who perfected the act of being drunk. That's what he was famous for as a comedian in the 70's. He even fooled you that's how good he was as a comedian. No one's been as good since.

  • @ChowHallCommando Silly Head THAT is Foster Brooks! It is called ACTING lolol . Sheesh kids these days LEARN about the FAMOUS comedians of days of yore. IT is a a BLAST! we had a BLAST in the 70's!!! Comedy rules!!! :-D

I am NOT trying to be mean to you -I just LOVE comedy and grew up when this was HOT STUFF!!! LOOLLOL

  • @SueBeaWho Cool. Iam 53 years old and grew up with this too but I never thought it was an ACT. Nobody can ACT that drunk. I use to hit the booze a lot in the old days and no one can act drunk that good.

  • @ChowHallCommando man ,you`re really an idiot

  • @ww2berry LOL and what kind of idiot are you bonehead? You don't even know me and you go and insult me? Don't you think thats kinda chicken shit since you're hidingt under the cover of the internet? I guess that can fall under the category of "no balls". Your some kind of fuckin "Mary" lol

  • @ChowHallCommando your reply proves my point

  • @ww2berry I agree with you, he is a fucking idiot.

I'm a nice guy for the most part, so when I call someone a fucking idiot you can be assured that they are one

  • @MrCorndogEater yeah,i never call names here on youtube, but that guy is really missing some cells up above, thanks MrCorndogEater

  • @ChowHallCommando This was what he did! the fact he didn't stumble at all on the way to the podium is a dead giveaway. real drunks lose motor function and not just talk funny.

  • @yetitracker Well he sure does a good job. I hadn't got tanked like that since I was in the Marine Corps. No one can act drunk that good. Geez,I got smashed just watching him.

  • @ChowHallCommando that was what made him great! it was an act! I was in the navy and we are experts on drunk behavior! lol

  • @ChowHallCommando

Actually Brooks didn't drink. THAT was his act. In fact, he was probably the most sober guest on the panel. One other thing, Dean wasn't as drunk as everyone thought he was. Comedians are rarely drunk. Try doing that when you're loaded.

  • @ChowHallCommando how can you be so stupid?

  • @ChowHallCommando Funny thing about Foster Brooks is he never touched alcohol. He played the best drunk ever. it was all an act.

  • @ChowHallCommando Idiot! That's the character he played in his act.

  • @Scyllax Go suck a doorknob pal. This lush is tanked. No one can act drunk that good. He's gotta be raedy for detox.

  • I Love Fosters eye exspressions! spot one.. lol

  • Remember what Red Skelton said about "blue" humor: "Any damned fool can cuss," was his answer.

  • Not 1 foul word, amazing

  • True talent doesn't have to rely on curse words to get a laugh ! todays roasts are full of no talent losers that have to use disgusting situations and curseing....PATHETIC

  • Would you live your life as a blonde?

    OMG I howled!!!

  • Foster Brooks- Class Act-

  • I was born in the late '80s and grew up in the '90s, and this is by far some of the most hilarious stuff ever. Foster Brooks is legendary, as are Ruth Buzzi, Rich Little, Nipsy Russell, and too many others to name <3.

  • @cinemaniac86 Thanks for appreciating the "dinosaur" culture. Whether something is objectively good or not, is had to determine. I remember this stuff, so it brings back sweet memories of youth, hope, and everyone in my life was still alive. I always think today's crap is tripe, but I suppose 30 years from now it will be "classic". At leas this stuff is more or less clean.

  • @greenwich1754 30 years from now, the stuff from today will still be CRAP.

  • As him what I should do for my pimps.... He said try Clearasil. Funny, funny stuff.

  • Those were the days, my friends, we thought they'ld never end!!!

  • Funny stuff, but stop boo hooing that comedy isn't the same - it's not supposed to be.

  • I love it when Foster tries to say a word, and can't get it out so he says something much simpler! :)

  • @killswitchred19 If you take away the fact that he is supposed to be drunk, you are left with the same type of word presentation difficulty (stuttering) that Porky Pig used to do. I don't recall anyone ever suggesting that Porky was making fun of people who stutter. Foster's drunk routines were done in good taste.

  • back when class was still in style

  • Those really were the good old days. Nothing like it on TV today and we'll probably never see anything like it again

  • MUR-DE-RER. OMG LOL

  • HILARIOUS!!!!!!!

  • This is funnier then 98% of the crap they call comedy on TV today. So true and so sad.

  • Real comedy..Ive say here watching the Dean martin Roasts for about 2 hours now, I haven't laughed this hard in a long long time..Whatever happened to comedy like this..

    Hillarious

  • @huskers5842 I think alot of this comedy died when the commedians did. How wonderful this was. I was very tiny but love to watch the reruns now. I miss this kind of comedy! And I miss Bennie Hill, Red Skelton, etc., all the kings. Take care.

  • 0:50 "I've gotten to know Truman Capoooooooo Capote." LMAO!!!!

  • Dean was not acting, he was really drunk. but he was so handsome...

    handsome, handsome...

  • @linda1067 Dean never drank and neither did Foster. It was all an act.

  • You heard Truman crack up when Foster was introduced...he didn't even have to open his mouth and people start laughing.

  • God, I love Brooks...this ol' dude can make me laugh til the tears are running down my face. God rest his crazy soul. We love you Foster.

  • Still funny even today!

  • it sounds like he's saying butthole at 00:49

  • Does it?

  • it does to me

  • This man can get away with EVERYTHING when he acts drunk

  • I love Dean's expression at 1:15.

  • Yeah, it's shifts so quickly and clearly haha!

  • He couldn't spare Truman for sure. What a funny man Foster was.:-)
