I have to disagree, because BluRay stores 25GB and HDDVD stores 15 GB. Plus BluRay is scratch resistant. Unless you can think of a parameter that HDDVD wins on I guess thats the end of that.
P.S. Price doesn't count because if price is an issue then you would use standard DVDs, not HDDVD or BluRay.

Yeah, the resolutions are the same, but remember that compression in terms of image quality is probably different. The more room on a disc, the higher the bitrate can be... which means more quality... visually.
If both movies are at 1080p, but one has a total file size of 10gb vs. another at 20gb., the bigger one will "look better."

No the Cell has one core and 7 SPEs which are each specialized to do certain tasks. The 360 Xenon processor has 3 general-purpose cores running at 3.2GHz each. And the way it works is it uses about 98% of one of its cores and saves the other two for whatever is needed.(BTW a game like Gears of war only pushes the 360 to about half of its potential power)
And some of the PS3s aren't even backward-compatible with PS2 games because they took out the Emotion engine to cut down on production costs and the PS3s that do run PS2 games make the PS2 games look like total crap. And like nobody buys the core 360 anyway so that doesn't mean anything. And who gives a fuck about card reader slots? Once again, stupid useless features. I could just buy a USB card reader for my 360 if I wanted to(but why the hell would I?)
Man, all I'm doing is defending my system, I'm not being a little stuck-up fanboy like you. I have a PS2 and like 25-30 games for it and I love it. I still play a little GTA every once-in-awhile. And I plan on buying a PS3 mainly for playing Blu Ray and GT5 and I'll admit it is a better built console. But you are just desperately trying to make the PS3 the best in everything which is not so. It's really quite pathetic. A true gamer will find something to appreciate in any console.
It's not as good in terms of definition, but it can hold its own with a good Oppo or Denon progressive scan player, or a decent DVD player coupled with a good DVDO external deinterlacer/scaler.
If HD-DVD loses, I won't be a sucker. Same thing if Blu-Ray loses.
I'm not investing in either one until one of them wins. The history of Beta vs. VHS is a good lesson on what can happen that ultimately makes the careless customer the biggest loser.
