these are american field crickets. Generally, bigger is better when it comes to fighting. The biggest fighting crickets are gryllus bimaculatus. The biggest of these american field crickets is about the same size as the smallest gryllus bimaculatus. It would be interesting to have a battle between two different species of crickets.
3) if they're the fighting variety, you can loop a strand of hair between its hind leg and the abdomen and gently swirl the cricket in a circular motion (suspended by the hair). This will induce the cricket to flap its wings. The act of flight brings back its fighting instinct.
these are american field crickets. they're full grown. Their inner wings are very short so you don't see them. Evolution has made their inner wings useless for flight. But, occasionally, maybe one in a thousand may have recessive genes and develop full grown inner wings.

Why do my two (male) crickets not fight? What did you do to make them mad?
xD3REKx 2 years ago
1) make sure they're actually males
2) not all cricket species like to fight
