Monk seals at Poipu Beach

I just got back from Kauai yesterday...we saw three different seals on beaches..they were exhausted from the rough seas...there is a monk seal emergency response team on the island...got to talk to them...great folks doing great work

I was there in early September '05 and '07 and they were there in '07.

There were three that time as well.

There was alarge male, a smaller male and a female.

The large male went and tussled around with the smaller male every time he tried to swim onto the beach.

The lady that watches after them (she puts out the ropes and signs) said these same ones are always there.

We were at this beach in late July/early August and didn't see any seals. Thanks for sharing!
