I am not sure if this is one, but I have seen a golden eagle bring down a dog, and I have heard of them plucking up coons which will fight with every inch of their life and small deer.

The one we saw we were going to shoot it. My nefew thought it was a buzzard Which are rampant in west texas, but when he told he it killed the Dog, i knew it was something different. Buzzards aren't birds of prey.

I pulled my binocs and could see this huge bird with a curved beak ripping this dog up.
