This movie shows the horrible truth about what's really going on in the lives of not only black women, but every women. No matter race or color. The movie is more directed fiestas African American women because when the original play was written these are the things that were prevalent at the times. Many of these things are still happening to our women even now.

Okay I do agree with you on one part, Tyler Perry does make black men look bad in ALL of his moves. It is very annoying because 1. Not all black men are like that, 2. To me, he's showing to the world why people should not date, marry, or be around black men, and 3. it makes all his movies basically the same.
But on the other note, I actually did like the movie, and I did get the concept of what Tyler was trying to portray: It's hard being a black woman

All his plays and movies lean more to addressing Black Women cause they are the ones being rag dolled. It's easy to say something is destroying the image of black men when they are the antagonists of the film. All I've heard about this movie is that males "really shouldn't watch it." I consider that a challenge. I'll watch the movie still, even after hearing this quite visceral review. Like "The Notebook," I wanna see what all the hubbub is about.
Sure, some of what happened in the movie IS reality. So I can understand the purpose behind the movie. But still, it seems like too much of the audience is bitter and angry. Kinda takes away from the movie itself. It's sad, but hey...what can ya do?

They have multiple babies mamas, they cheat, they beat and the don't work. Yet many Black women find a reason to stay with these men and play the victim. I'm all for exposing to dispose but Tyler Perry just lays the story out there without any reasoning. These movies are basically "I need a good cry" movies. He doesn't delve into the reasoning for his character's issues nor does he provide a feasible solution. I understand the importance of giving a voice to the victims of abuse but when will the healing begin? He just rehashes raw emotion.
