in 1991 i saw paula's under my spell tour in DC let me tell you it was awesome we were fifth row from the center stage andshe performed amazingly..her opening act was color me badd and the black guy in the group slipped when he came out on the catwalk but he caught himself..paula gets alot of bad publicity from critics and haters but make no mistake if you grew up in the 80's and 90's you know she was the true pop princess

Paula A. and Madonna actually dominated the concert scene during those days. They knew how to perform before a huge audience. There were 80s and 90s pop stars who were only good in radios, while there were those who were only good in music videos. But Madonna and Paula were the concert queens.

Unlike Paula, I would think Britney Spears wasn't as personal with her fans on stage. Whether that led to what got Britney in the mess she's in now is debatable.

Britney has never been that personal on her tours. Her dialogs are almost always scripted.

I think all the stars should slow down, stop, and actually talk to their fans during a concert. And no just scripted materials, but actual small/normal talks from the heart.

But it's all about production values nowadays.
