Personally i love metal, along side hard rock and punk, music is all about personal opinions, and tastes though, obviously, but it annoy's me when people just say metal is "people screaming downa microphone about death" wich is just not true! if people took time to read lyrics to the songs they'd see the real message's...anyway love the vids, and peace out !
I too, love blue. Just discovered it a couple of years ago. If you want to hear blues, particularly on guitar, search for "borny" on youtube. He's a great young blues player.
hi Grandpa! I'm getting caught up on videos now and I forgot how much of a calming effect you have on me and how much I like your videos. I agree with your choice of music. You say everything so much better than anyone else can. Your stories are always so fun! Some great memories you have! You're right nothing can soothe better than music, well other than watching your videos of course! Love you Grandpa!
I have favourited this video. It is brilliant. YOU are brilliant. I am very pleased you like blues music. This is my favourite style, and my eureka moment was discovering the genius of Stevie Ray Vaughan on Christmas day about two years ago. I also love jazz loads as well!

You really are a funny guy Peter, I listen to country music and acoustic music.. Country Music is the best shrink money can buy, If your depressed it cheers you up if your angry it chills you out.
My Eureka mement was hearing The Righteous Brothers - Unchained Melody when I was about 9 or 10. And I'm 25 now. My friend James borrowed his sisters record player and was going thru them playing hte records. My brother and James tried taking that song off as they hated it but I forced them to keep it going!! Fell in love with the song and it's still my favourite ever song to this day.
hey you guys, i thoguht we should all get together and buy peter a new computer! it would only cost a few bucks each split between a few hundred people! and thats for an awsome one!! Tell me what you think!!
My Eureka moment, as far as music is concerned was when I first heard Nirvana when I was 15. I'm 30 now. It made me feel like nothing had before and still does. I love almost all music, but that was it for me. You are awesome by the way!!!

You make great videos. Most people on youtube make videos of them talking but you are the ONLY one who actually interests me...its odd. I like blues music too actually :)

A great video as usual! Thank you for posting it! And concerning your wish of getting your corpse dragged by a motorbike! I just say; Don't underestimate the power of celeberacy.
I'm so impressed you got to see Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee back then; it was probably during the American Folk Blues Festival in London! Good for you
Hi geriatric1927, Did you collect cigarette cards as a boy? I've done some video clips of dance band and 1930-40s movie stars potrayed on old cigarette cards. Please have a look when you have chance, thank you! I might do a clip on some 1920's motorcycle cards soon as well.
my eureka moment was when i got dumped and when my parents were really supportive. doesn't sound like an eureka moment, but after that i felt determined to wanna re-continue my studies in english.
I love, you I accidentally discovered you from JackVo's response on your "first try" video! Your, awesome, you sweet, and adorable. You remind me of my Grandfather, and my dad combined. I will subscribe to you immediately. I also LOVE Blues and Jazz. And your story just makes my day 20 billion times better :]! Good luck, and good day!
Vinyl records! I'd saved enough carfare to ride a trolley and the el to center city to buy a record. I laid it on the seat beside me on the el, to smooth my coat under me, when someone came and sat on it! They did break easily!
My own Eureka moment came when I first heard Punk rock music. (1976) It had had a very negative press, but it inspired me and many others to go out and buy a guitar and learn more about music. I joined a band and made many new friends and we had a great time. This isn't to say that that's the only music I enjoy, but I have some great memories of that time, so it shall always be special to me.
I don't know but i wrote a comment before, but it didn't appear, i just want to say that i think your life was so affected with music, i mean music is so important to you.. well i think i said more than that, what do you think about pink floyd Peter?
Don't remember my Eureka moment, but remember as a tot of about 4 rushing in whenever ragtime was played on the radio or TV in the early '70s. Skip ahead to the mid-'80s and rediscovered it. Early '90s learned of the active ragtime scene. Now I'm a reasonably known ragtime composer (though better known for the videos of ragtime performers that I post on YouTube!).
what about heavy metal blues? You know, the Led foot? Led Zep? You don't like the heavy blues? Wow, I could just picture you up and bouncing about with some AC/DC blaring, you with your AIR-Guitar just jamin!
My eureka moment has everything to do with the blues, Robert Johnson (The Man) was my first contact with what I consider "real music" (non pop); I was doing research on Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and, Jimmy Page (all from The Yardbirds).
interesting. I saw your mysterious places #3 video and it's ALL about history (and a pretty good video may I add). Don't you think Peter's own experiences during another historical time are just as fascinating? I know I do. And we are getting the stories from the source, not myths or legends. Both kinds of history are valuable. To each their own, I suppose, but I think hearing history from someone who was there is intriguing.
Well there you are: he's nice. Utterly self-absorbed in the way many elderly people are. But nice. I live next door to an 85 year old widower who is not ENTIRELY nice but he is interesting. I prefer my old curmudgeon to this nice fellow anytime. NICE? C'mon!!
well, if you read my whole post, "nice" is just one reason I watch Peter...he is also interesting and very funny.
Lots of people are "self-absorbed", why do you think YouTube is so popular? But I don't see that in Peter's videos, he's just hanging out with us, sharing his stories.
So, if Peter is "boring", why are you here? Isn't your time more important than to put down a lovely fellow sharing his stories with people who WANT to listen to them? Talk about a boring life, jeroid...
I didn't say he was "boring" did I? I came here like everyone else, to see what it was all about. I could have left a 'way to go' comment like most people always do but what would be the point of that? Trouble with me is that when I see an icon I want to challenge it. And I can see an icon. Back to my boring life...
haha so true, he is well past his sell by date, the fucking idiot cant even keep his eyes opened any more. Its time to die old man, do us all a favour and just hang yourself
well...i don't know. that's a bit extreme. i'm not suggesting that the guy do something like that. but there does come a time when one should do the proper thing and resolve to pack it in. there's a lot to be said for them old eskimos who agree to sit on a slab of ice and be pushed off into the ocean when their time comes.
I have indeed found a Eureka moment i write this while i am listening , my Eureka moment was my choice to become a teacher , cause of the influence of my design and art teacher had on me , cause i wasn't the greatest at school due to dyslexia but either gave up on me and here i am today only a few months away from teaching my own design class
For myself, my favourite music is softer rock such as "My Chemical Romance", "+44", "Alexisonfire" and bands in that genre. My own "Eureka" moment would probably be discovering that kind of genre. Particular songs that have moved me in a peculiar fashion are "Famous Last Words" by My Chemical Romance or "When Your Hearts Stops Beating" by +44.
P.s Your dream ending reminds me of The Black Parade lol.
My Eureka moment: Hearing Tom Waits sing 'Tom Traubert's Blues' on an LP playing in a record store on the Island of Okinawa -- 1982. I've been a fan ever since. Get some rest.
lol, my eureka moment was when this very wealthy woman came into our office about 800 million dollars. The doctors told me not to let her wait...lol. I was very busy and I had to let her wait anyway. After taking care of her and she was very pleasant. I asked the docs how she made her fortune...lol. They told me her husband invented the milk carton and made over 400 million off of it.
We have funerals in Louisiana like that all the time. The only difference is the band walks in front of the horse drawn bier.A band leader marches and steps in front of the band.Motorcycles would be a part of the procession normally anyways. The motorcycle hearse was done by a harley group when one of their members passed away.Your dream is not so far fetched Peter.
Oooo! Speaking of motorbikes! I filmed a lovely old motorcycle the other day! Watch for it in one of my future videos - will try to remember to let you know which one - would love to know what it was!
Hope you are feeling more rested now. Take care of you!
Come check out the official Nike youtube channel. Suscribe and request as friend, you could win Nike merchandise for a year. Deal includes clothing and shoes. Just suscribe and request to be friend. Good luck.
I like practically everything except for most rap and country... I like anything from hardrock, metal, hardcore to slower stuff like classic rock and blues.
well i have a eureka moment it is being a dj playing spanish makina music i just toatly love tht music dunno wha i would do without it a loved tht music u had on at the end of your video its klass
I have followed your video's since you started so I think I have seen them all. I wonder if you realize how much better and more relaxed you are now? Your video's have a more polished look and feel and your choice of music at the beginning is perfect! I enjoy each of your videos, often for different reasons. Thanks so much for sharing your memories, inner thoughts, and a bit of what makes Peter the unique person he is.
My Eureka moment occured a long time ago, when I was about 4 years old. My mother used to play records while she cleaned the house, and my favorite piece of music was "Un Bel Di" from Madame Butterfly. That's when I knew I loved classical music. 40 years later, I earned my bachelor's degree in music! By the way, I love the New Orleans Jazz Band, and have seen them many times!
Mr.Pete; Well done as usual! Keep them coming plz. I've had many "eureka moments" in life, the the best are time spent with people like you. Have you tried 'streaming radio' lately? It has matured, and is a great source of the Blues! Best wishes, hope ya feel better!
I feel the same way about music. At 35, I suddenly feel I can't understand the words to some metal and rap music that I used to listen to some things when I was young and my grandparents didn't get the music I listened to then. I think my main eureeka moment was finding youtube and getting into being able to express myself in videos. I know that's nothing big. Maybe waiting for someting major yet. Love listening to you. Take care!
My eurekea moment was shortltly after Im smoked my second joint, and the host of the party said you got to here this, an put on PINKY FlOUD'S DARK SIDE OF ME MOON!! Jonny cash and all the similar music was put aside from then on, and John Mayal and clapton came front and center

Well I'm another that can't go a second without having some kind of music on. I'm mainly into Heavy Metal and Rock, but I also love The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, T-Rex, The Cure etc. A lot of different stuff.
I'm going through a huge Beatles re-discovery at the moment, even though I'm only 19:) Were you a Beatles fan, Peter?
come on Peter, it's not too late to get the Led out...try 'Since I've been loving you' by Led zeppelin that's meant to be heavy metal but it's steeped in the blues as is all rock/metal if you break it down. My 'Eureka' moment was listening to Remasters by Led Zep and I realised I'd been wasting my time with poodle rock. Quite profound I know...
Very delightful visit, once again. I have to admit, I'm more into the blues than I am some of the traditional NO or Dixieland jazz myself, but I like most music and listen to just about anything, with some exceptions as you noted.
My Eureka moment was reading Tolkien's Lord of the Ring back in 1965. Opened a whole new world of literature to me.
Get some rest, please, and take care of yourself first and foremost. Visit again when you have the time. We'll be here. :-)
Always comforting to hear your voice. We celebrated Chinese New Year today in Australia. My first song that change my world was 'winter' by Tori Amos. I fell in front on the Tv and thought nothing while she was singing, but afterwards I could not believe another human could be so honest. Love you mate.
What a boring old fart. It would be more interesting watching paint dry than waiting for you to finish a sentence. It would be better if you were awake when you make your videos. 'When I was a boy we had to sew up the holes in our clothes with the needles from pine trees, and it was a 3 mile walk to the outside toilet...' :-)
mikey1910, I suppose it's better to ignore people like U but I have to say...
I would imagine Peter has got more going for himself in his sleep than you probably do fully awake on a very good day!!!(perhaps you still have one of those pine needles up you arse?)
I just love you Peter and quite obviously so do a lot of others. Cheers until next time. Nancy

good god, would this guy just give us all a break and die?
enough's enough.
tdejmcd 5 years ago
haha so true, he is well past his sell by date, the fucking idiot cant even keep his eyes opened any more. Its time to die old man, do us all a favour and just hang yourself
RaulMadrid7 5 years ago
well...i don't know. that's a bit extreme. i'm not suggesting that the guy do something like that. but there does come a time when one should do the proper thing and resolve to pack it in. there's a lot to be said for them old eskimos who agree to sit on a slab of ice and be pushed off into the ocean when their time comes.
tdejmcd 5 years ago
I have a suggestion for you, Raul.
Start recognising the value of the past.
Otherwise, you will never have a future.

How about Joss Stone? She impresses me!
Oooo! Speaking of motorbikes! I filmed a lovely old motorcycle the other day! Watch for it in one of my future videos - will try to remember to let you know which one - would love to know what it was!
Hope you are feeling more rested now. Take care of you!

Hi Peter,
I have followed your video's since you started so I think I have seen them all.

By the way, I love the New Orleans Jazz Band, and have seen them many times!
genmama1955 5 years ago

Take care!

Beatles where my eureka moment too :) I was 5 yesrs old.

come on Peter, it's not too late to get the Led out...try 'Since I've been loving you' by Led zeppelin that's meant to be heavy metal but it's steeped in the blues as is all rock/metal if you break it down.

'When I was a boy we had to sew up the holes in our clothes with the needles from pine trees, and it was a 3 mile walk to the outside toilet...' :-)
mikey1910 5 years ago
mikey1910, I suppose it's better to ignore people like U but I have to say...
I would imagine Peter has got more going for himself in his sleep than you probably do fully awake on a very good day!!!(perhaps you still have one of those pine needles up you arse?)
I just love you Peter and quite obviously so do a lot of others. Cheers until next time. Nancy
