@1withguitar He's actually playing stuff from the natural minor scale. Pentatonic scale is a scale with five notes in it (hence PENTAtonic) the scale he's playing includes the notes not included in the minor pentatonic scale, namely the second and sixth degrees.

I would consider myself to be one of those with an extraordinary mind as I am a relatively talented percussionist and I too, have a substance abuse problem. Interestingly, he's using backing tracks and portable amplification, so he likely has access to electricity, though the roll cart with what looks like a bedroll might be an indication...if he's homeless, it's not been for long, as he still has a guitar; it's really hard to keep much of anything for long, if you don't have a place to stash it.

This is going to give a lot of other musicians the idea. If they are broke, all they have to do is get them a little roller cart, load it up with poverty rags, and find them a good place in the city where many people are, and then just start entertaining. Alice Mosely in the New York subways, makes more money probably daily than she ever would selling records. Check her out, and see how loaded with cash her box gets filled with for entertaining out in public.

No one with this type of talent is actually living on the street unless they choose to. A lot of people would take this fellow in, who are trying to get together a group themselves. I do think it is all a put on, like the fellow years ago who had no legs, and would beg daily on a little roller cart in the city, and at the end of the day, a limousine would pick him up
