I came to Lipatti's recordings only in very recent years, but he is such a discovery and a treasure. Amazing what he conjures out of this well known pair of Minuets. An inspiring artist!

One of the most remarkable musicians, imho. Exceedingly wonderful craft coupled with the keenest of musical intelligence. He even makes Bach sound not boring! Lol.

Did you know that Walter Legge (who did all these recordings on HMV) said Lipatti had all the qualities of a saint? (I am sure you can find Legge's obituary - hommage - from 1952 somewhere. Interesting to read what went on in the studio!)
