  • Awesome!! Great job! Making dobermann owners very proud!

  • I'm now putting this breed of dog onto the possibility list for when I get my own dog. Australian shepherd, German shorthair, Husky, Labrador/Rottweiler mix, and now Dobermans, guess I never really thought about the breed before...

  • Wonderful!! Cecar Milan knows it: anybody can be the packleader if u belev it

  • Your kids are true dog whisperers! Very clear communication between them and your Mike.

    Keep up the good work!

  • she's a future dog trainer , so cute !

  • i have seen alot of doberman videos and that is one good looking boy u got there

  • very trained dog!!!!!you have done a very good job!!!!!!!!that's a doberman should look like........

  • Great video to demonstrate how great this breed is with children. Our guy, when I used to walk him, he'd give me a good firm tug, but as soon as our daughter took the leash, he'd be as gentle as ever with her. They are extremely smart and the only breed we would ever consider getting again (our dobe passed away 2 years ago).

    Cheers.

  • One handsome, well mannered Doberman!

  • Beautiful doberman. They allow him in home depot?

  • It's amazing how dogs, raised with children will become their protector - I've had Golden Retrievers warn me away from their yards, when kids are playing in it's yard, they turn from lovable Golden to very stern creatures.

  • Outstanding! Beautiful! Scotty J

  • Aww :D

  • That is awesome!

  • ATTACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Perfectly trained dog

  • Hi,

Can I ask if he was raised with your kids from a young age? Do you think Dobes need to grow up with children to be trustworthy around them?

    thanks!

  • @1234321vicky All of my kids have grown up around Dobermans, and all of my dogs do great with kids

  • @1234321vicky Saw your comment and figured I'd post my experience owning a dobe who was not raised around kids. We got her a little later than normal (12 wks old) and while we did socialize her with kids we saw there just aren't a lot of kids around us (nor are there people we know who have kids).

I have no concern that she would bite a kid but she gets scared of them when they get jumpy and well...act like kids. She just doesn't want anything to do with them.

  • @1234321vicky Hi just throwing my two cents in. Was raised with two female dobermans. As a very small child our dobes looked out for me dispite me being rough with them. They allways took every thing a small child could dish out in stride. Used to feed them by hand and remove food from their mouth and if youve ever watched one eat thats saying something. I have found that American dobes are a bit more docile than their euro bretheran thou. A great breed with kids that live in the household.

  • Nice dog. They let dogs in Home Depot?????

  • @clete99 -- Yep, I used to work there. Saw dogs all the time.

  • Well, god help anyone who messes with those kids. That dog has bonded with them.

  • How did you get in Bauhaus with him!?!?

  • Your dog is the APITAMEY of calm-submissive. Great work! I have a friend whos kids walk my Great Dane form time to time. Its nice to see some one else teaching kids how to be in charge.

  • @Shushit55 Sorry ment epidemy! LOL

  • isn't that dog just absolutely perfect. <3

  • isn't that dog just absolutely perfect. <3

  • Woow, amazing! You dob is very well trained! Will he protect your kids? You know, my dob is too exciting each time I walk him...Your dob is really great in terms of look and temperament.

  • could i ask how much a doberman trained to that standard cost?

  • Dogs like this start about $10k and go up from there

  • thanks im guessing 10k for a pp3 dog with some tracking?

  • Most Personal protection dogs don't spend time learning tracking, that is done more with sport dogs or other competition dogs

  • Man, that's the way I want to live.

  • Thanks for sharing. We have small kids and are considering adopting a dob. This was good to see.

  • aww its like her little friend there the same height

    so cute

  • In my quest for a Euro Doberman I remember speaking with Steve at some point. I also had the opportunity to purchase Mike at one pointl, but passed because of the reputation of the person offering him to me (someone other then Steve). Mike looks like he turned out great. Good work Steve.

  • wonderful dobi. how much does he weight?

  • about 90 pounds

  • I'm looking at how your Dobie never tries to outstrip your children. That means it knows that your children is at a higher position in the pack. What a really well trained dog!!!

  • awesome doberman!

  • now this is a doberman! not those skinny little american lines they keep promoting.

  • Hes nearly bigger as your kids but still follows their instructions... nice training

  • are they ever aggressive?

  • poorly bred or poorly trained dogs can be aggressive, properly bred/trained dogs should be protective never aggressive.

  • clap

  • I'm just stunned at how calm and how the dog lets the kids walk him without pulling..... even when hes at the store and so many new smells of the other animals and all he still is calm and does not pull.... was he always like that or have u just done youre training? btw youre dog is superb looking!!!

  • It takes both good temperament to start with and proper training. Thank you for the compliments.

  • i hear lot of rumors in my country about dobes. thats why i barely see a dobe , like they all get a german shepherd or a rottweiler or or...

first thing is that dobermans can easily turn on their owners.

their are mean and vicious dogs who have no friends.

is that right cz its a doberman i wanna get but im affraid a little??

  • They can be whatever people make of them. I think Dobes Are great with people, but you could ruin them and make them mean.

  • my dobie comes home tomorrow.. his name is jack.. and he is 10 weeks old.. btw wonderful doberman you got there, i bet the kids love him

  • No signs of dominance or disobedience

    Inborn humility maybe =)

Great dobe, seems I'd be after one soon.

  • awesome dog... I didn't know you could take dogs into the home depot.

  • no child should ever be considered a threat

  • what happens if other kids approach your children?? or if your children themselves have a small fight??

  • the same does and mine doberman is very very protective with my young sister and my small causens i know tha nobody cant harm my sister if zeus is near her thats i love dobies family dogs and protectors!!!!!!!!!

  • you wouldn't get the chance to touch my daughter, both Mike and I pay close attention :)

  • by far the best dog i've ever seen in my life. honestly!

  • how old is he at this point?

  • 3 years old

  • Outstanding dog. Mike behaves just like my Levi. I try to explain to people the nature of Dobermans and the importance or training, but they still think he's scary.

  • Naturally, a well trained dog can be handled by anyone willing to build a relationship.

  • would a person with Cerebral Palsy be able to handle a Doberman? They're gorgeous, I love their personalities, and I would love to get one.

  • Some home depots are good about that, others forbid all but service animals. This is one reason we always shop at home depot instead of Lowes :)

  • they let dogs come in home depot???
