  • someone can tell me plase how he does the variation just before guitar start playing? the tabs I look at show to slap 13-12 in the second, then strum the 13 and 15 chord, then slide the 13 (second) and 14 (third) chord and strum and start again... but it just does not sound to me!

Hope it can be understand by someone XD

Cheers Mr. Zodiakironfist! Once again my mind was blown! \m/

  • Great bass player, but he was a smartass, especially when replying to some positive criticism. RIP.

  • Primus Sucks!

  • I am fucking shocked that your gone!! this sucks.

  • gonna miss you man

  • black cherry yummy...

  • What bass is that! It's SOOO PRETTY! And BTW dude you are a god!

  • This bass is a Schecter Stiletto Elite 4 bass (black cherry finish), and I agree that it is pretty. And the bass is the star, not me. Without it, I promise that I would suck.

  • Humble pie! U know you are good.

  • What type of amp do you use, and great cover.love the music u keep makin.keep 'em commin

  • No amp. Direct guitar recorder.

  • thx just wanted to know

  • great shit man, let's make a cover together...

  • And.. you use one program in special? (sorry for my inglish, jaja)

  • Very nice as always! Well done :D

  • I mean, where would the world be without Primus????

  • I like it.

  • I'm glad YT didn't pull this down. Great job on this song! It's never an easy thing to play Claypool - but you did it spot-on! BTW: beautiful bass!

  • Nice work!

  • Spot on rendition of a difficult song.

  • Wow!! Man, just WOW!.

  • Nice Job Rob!!...:)...The Guards say Yay!!!!

  • Rob, as always.... AMAZING!

Truly my favourite bass playing LRRG!

Hopefully you get to keep 'em coming...

  • Rob, I am a little late at viewing this video, but it makes for a wonderful Thanksgiving! Sure does take me back. Keep rockin' as always. :)

  • Amazing cover and I love the pajama pants. You always entertain me.

  • Glad to see some primus makin its way out again

  • well rob it looks like the youtube nazi's may let you slide a bit. keep our fingers crossed for you...lol!!!!!

  • PRIMUS SUCKS!!!! LES FOREVER, one of my fav songs by Primus :D

  • why do i love primus? that was fuckin gnarly im jeleous you can play that shit...

  • great cover dude. I swear I was just listening to this CD in my car today!

  • Even more Ninja skills :) That looks damn hard!

  • they dont take down primus vids anymore off of youtube. my over the electric grapevine vid was off for awhile but then youtube put it back up along with all the primus music vids

  • awesome playing mate primus is all about the bass nice cover dude keep it up

  • I never get tired of saying Rob, you did a fantastic take on a fantastic song. The way you bring life to the song by getting into it adds to the song as well, it makes it much more fun to watch from an observers point of view. Thanks Rob, keep up the awesome work!

  • sucha fun song to play

  • Awesome!

  • the schecter bass sounds fantastic for the primus stuff

  • Yeah, i'm so glad to see you did another cover of Primus. You're very skilled, Primus' songs are hard I think (and get the Les' sound too), but you always manage to do something perfect!

You're an inspiration to me, keep on rockin'! :D

  • Great job Rob, love it when the major action starts at 2:53 - nice pajama pants btw. That's pure LRRG awesomeness.

    5***** from rainy Germany

  • you do such great Primus covers, I love your "Tommy the Cat" cover.

  • Wow I find it mind blowing that you can play Primus on a four string and pull it off extremely well. I hope you'll be able to do more Primus in the future.

  • Les' primary bass is a 4-string.

  • Oh he is? I thought he played on a six string. I'm not too up on my Primus. Either way its amazing you can play this stuff.

  • You're thinking of Les' Rainbow Bass, which is a fretless 6. It's a beauty, but not his main..

  • Yeah that's the one. In all the videos I've seen him play in he's using that one so I thought he was primarily a 6 string player. Well I'm not up on my Claypool too much.

  • Do a youtube search for Les Claypool playing "The Awakening" bass solo. That's his main bass, a Carl Thompson 4-string with Kahler tremolo.

  • Oh I see now. Thanks for the info and correction.

  • Fingers crossed for ya Rob! Good to see some Primus up on here! Keep rockin my man!

  • nice

  • is that a Peavy TNT 150 in the background? i have one also and i love it! (i need to upgrrade tho...)

  • It's the only amp I have ever needed. If the venue is bigger, I just plug into the PA or line out the Peavey into a second cab. In RALLY big venues, the TNT 150 serves as my bass monitor while the rest of my signal is through the PA. It's not a fancy, impressive setup, but it does the job.....and I get better tone than with Ampeg or Trace Elliot.

  • ah thanks for responding! keep up the videos

  • @ghostjs How much are those?

  • sweet!

  • Feels good on my end, too....Les is a HUGE influence on me, and I am frankly tired of finding Les-like stuff to do to take his place.

  • nice you did very good

  • I aim to please.

  • I love this song so much... Thanks for the upload!

  • Thanks for watching...and the comment!

  • \m/

  • Your a beast

  • I'm actually a dork, but I appreciate the compliment nonetheless.

  • I say you do a Ballad Of Bodacious cover, its a sexy bass line, lots of room to add fills yourself. I've been learning it. Just got into Primus...just utterly blown away

  • Les will change the way you see the instrument, that is for sure. I have learned more playing Les than any other bass player out there.

Ballad of Bodacious. Never thought of it, really. It is not one of my "normal" Primus tunes to play....I normally just listen to it.

  • I would just love to play all of em :) When I first heard it, I was just walking and grooving everywhere I went...I just don't get how he is so amazing

  • thanks for putting up a Primus one again :)

  • Thank UMG for letting me.

  • Good stuff man.

  • Much appreciated, massive.

  • YEAH! Love the Rob playing the Primus once again! Awesome job as always man. Crossing my fingers for the video staying up.

    Nice plant.

  • P.S. Working on "Power Mad" at the moment!

  • Oh, that is a fun one! I will probably resubmit mine in a few months (it was a copyright wars casualty).

  • ok im declaring myself a stalker from now on...

joke aside, excellent cover...really love the bit from 4:05 till the end :) your playin nice marmelade to the song

  • That part I play a bit differently than Les does, but it is "close enough". Congrats, you are the first to EVER call my playing "marmelade"....most would compare to it as marmite instead.

  • Very Very good.

  • Thanks a bunch...not perfect, but I am happy with it.

  • Oh btw, i was just listening to this minimized as i was setting up my amp, and I had just realized that it was a cover and not the album version! Besides the little improv fills though :)

  • That, and Les is so much cleaner than I am.

  • Awesome as usual. Les would be proud!

  • Respect my friend! Really good cover!

  • Appreciated. This is an old fave of mine to play.

  • Good Job man keep up the good work, I love some Primus.

  • Thanks....I'll try.

  • :crossed:

  • You're not the only one hoping. In a couple of days we'll know for sure.

  • By the way, some of you may notice that the tuning is better for this video than normal. I discovered that my digitech bp-80 has a tuner that comes with it. So from now on, if it is in standard, I'll have the right tuning or close to it. No more guesswork!

  • Is it luck? LOL In top form my friend... if the section starting at 2:53 doesn't make you pogo there is something wrong with ya :)

  • I really wish I could have moved more for that part, but I was so concerned with sounding okay that I had to hold back. Normally I dance like a nutbag, but I miss a couple of those chords over the course of the rest of the song when I do.

  • LOL I was just telling Satch earlier today, I don't jump around like I did in my earlier vids, so I'm actually sounding better these days :) But your movements never jeapordize the tune!

  • They don't when you get 3-4 takes. LOL.

  • great cover, good to see primus from you agauin :D

  • Its good to play Primus again. Funny how when I cannot make a video for a band, that band is practically ignored on my play list. Not worth investing time if I cannot make a video. I've turned into such a whore.

  • awesome man. I always enjoy your covers. I also love Primus!

  • LOL. Yes, Primus Sucks!, and I mean that in a good way,.

  • nice job, my last one got pulled in 5 seconds! Great stuff, good tone!

  • Well, that is encouraging at least. I am worried about it being up for a couple of days before the gestapo comes. That would be a disappointment.

  • What album is "Groundhog's day" off of?

  • Frizzle Fry, their first studio album.

  • Thats some bloody awesome bass playing my friend. Not a big fan of primus (I find it hard to get over his singing voice) but I liked this one.

  • Thanks, man. And yes, I have quite a variety of musical tastes, so vaired that nobody could like them all. In fact, if someone liked everything I did I would think they were weird.

  • Awesone stuff as always, nice to see some more primus being played :)

Watched the Halucino-genetics with friends last night, and this really just tops it off :)

  • Excellent....I love it when the timing of my videos does something like that.

  • Well, it's survived for 15 minutes. Perhaps this vid has a chance after all.

  • Ive been waiting for this one.

  • Wow...I bet you've been waiting a while...been a while since I was allowed to play Primus...since last November or so.

  • niec job man

  • Thanks, shaggy.

  • Awesome.

  • Thanks, man
