Where'd you get that dog? Love that pooch. Jack Russell or Fox Terrier? There's nothing wrong with cleaning circulated coins as long as you don't scrub. Yep, some folks don't understand the difference between cleaned/circ. from MS. It can give you a VF from a VG. Nice.
The baking soda method isnt what you think it is. The backing soda uses electrodes. You put in a folded peice of aluminum foil into a container, then pour hot, not boiling water into it, and put the silver coin on top of the aluminum and it will take of tarnish and only tarnish. If you want to take of dirt (if its a newer coin and doesnt have tarnish) then i would use what you use. Great Video!
I'm glad someone did a video on this, it works fantastic. You need to be selective on what numismatic coins you use it on, but i use it on all or any of my bullion. And yes, before somebody cries, you can use on coins. The dealers do it too on the right ones, and many of them will recommend it to you. I don't use a Q-tip, but i'm hard-headed and i dip the coin strait into the container and use my fingers. I KNOW, it's a slight acid, but don't forget the baking soda and water to neutralize.
thanks for the cleaning tips! have some beat up 10 percent silver mexico un peso coins I will experiment with. Silver just hit $44 an ounce as I am typing this!
thanks for the post !!! It really doesnt matter if you clean your coins as long as you are just hoarding them for the silver content and not the coins value itself !!! great
@MrSilverPieces Yeah I agree....but some of the nicer ones I might sell on ebay, cause they go for much higher than spot. Might as well take advantage of the numismatic value while we still can! lol
@SilverHaarp the ones that you see selling in ebay are mint state from the time they were minted but you are cleaning the dirt and grime of circulated coins, people who are collectors would be upset on ebay because you can tell the difference between mint luster and coins with their fields striped and artificially shined. But great channel o like all you vids !!!!

That looks like a relay safe & easy way to clean silver. I don't care what anybody says, I love silver when it's clean & shiny with only a minimum of age tarnish.
@JezebelDecibel Haha, i agree. I'm the same way with my bullion, i don't like the tarnish, I need t see my shine. I have E-Zest at home here and it works great. I've recommended the stuff to others before, actually it was dealer recommended to me as well.
@JezebelDecibel If you google search "EZ-est" coin cleaner you will find different sources. You just need to see who will ship it out to ya. The product itself is cheap in price though. I was thinking of doing a video on this because i use it to get ugly toning and tarnish off my bullion and on certain coins. It is great stuff, a dealer recommended it to me and i love it. The only draw back is that it's a slight acid and that turns some people off. But it's very mild, and reusable. Good luck.
