Not in VA. 3 Either Sex and 3 Antlerless only. I kill most of my deer on personal private property.

Over time, buckshot and slugs will open a full or modified choke slightly larger. All metal stresses and a large chunk of lead or pellets will play on any gun. It can improve the guns pattern or destroy it depending on how the barrel's muzzle expands.

Nice shooting. I've taken several deer with buckshot and I have always wondered why some people say buckshot is not adequate for deer. As long as you don't shoot at a deer that is out of range, buckshot is VERY effective at quickly putting down a deer as this video shows. Every deer I have taken with buckshot was 50 yards or closer when I shot and they either dropped on the spot or went 20 yards or less before dropping.

I have the exact same shot gun, I love it, very fun to shoot, and a pretty inexpensive shot gun for what it is. I have never shot a slug through mine yet, only bird shot lol. Nice shot by the way.

What choke does this gun have? I have a Wingmaster, I don't know if all 870s have a modified choke, though.

@HedgehogOutdoors Full. It does have interchangeable choke tubes and I use Full for deer hunting.

what choke were you usin that was pretty good shot buck man I use a full i got a remington1100 3inch magnum i shoot winchester 3inch 00 and remington3inch 00 and ive killed deer at 80 to 10 yards with it keep it man good hunt
