Motorola Droid for Verizon Wireless - Product Review

I had an iphone since day one, when I put my hands on the droid I was in love.

ATT sucks asshole and the iphone is right behind.

I am a mac guy btw, but the iphone sucks asshole and everyone and their mother has it, I guess it was kind of cool when it was 600 dollars and not many people had it, now its like cricket phones, they are everywhere.

OK, I love that you took the time to watch my video review of the Motorola Droid. I think that you may not have listened very well though. Your comment was very passionate, just not well thought out. I took a little time to do the research to help you get yourself straightened out.

I didn't love the software, but I'm sure Google will continually upgrade it. That's what they do, realease early and upgrade often.

maps application on the iPhone is made by Google, not Apple and I love it. Not sure how that is being an Apple Fanboy?

Not true, the phone is very nice designed.

I was unaware that the HTC Eris existed when I made this video. They really didn't advertise it until much later on. When I went back to the store and tried it, I begged my wife to buy it for herself.

I'm just not sure how the ubiquity of a product makes it a crappy product??? I hope a lot of other people don't go out and by droid phones or yours may stop working.

@VitaminCM it makes it crappy because the company doesnt care about quality, just quantity.

The iphone is outdated already, we are going up to 3 years and it hasnt changed at all, looks wise, they upgraded the gpu and some ram on the 3gs, big deal.

Give us something new, we are sick of it already.

Another hint, open source, thats what iDont have and droid does as well.

It took them 2 years to give us a simple copy and paste utility, where even a 10 year old phone does it.

@VitaminCM Also, if you do some more research, droid sold more units than the iphone (timeline)

meaning in 3 months iphone sold 1 million when adroid did more.

Apple is all about money and I am sad to say this but they think their shit doesn't stink and everything they sell is overpriced and that my friend will bring them down in the long run.

5 stars for what sounds to be an honest sharing of your opinions on this product.

Once I trim off the rhetorical enthusiasm from some other Droid reviews I've heard their essence is I think similar to yours. The Droid is a geeks phone & many tech enthusiasts will enjoy messing with it but oldsters, corporate users, teen texters will all probably be happier with something else.

All reviews are valuable but me, I'll decide once I've played with one for a bit.

Really? You couldn't figure out the map application? You press a button and that map comes up....you can even fucking tell the phone to open the map.....how the hell is that difficult.

I actually agree with you dude. I'm not an iPhone fanboy or anything (well, I love the iPhone but im loyal to verizon), and I was eagerly awaiting this phone. I played with it extensively on its launch day and I just felt kind of let down. Most of it is hype, that's why "experts" are praising it, and consumers are buying it. My biggest complaint is the hardware feel though--just NOT right lol, theres no better way to put it. Big, clunky, not durable...idk, ill hold out for something else

The Droid is just a bad user experience. I would rather have a good Windows Mobile device over it. Stop watching ridiculous Apple or Verizon commercials. Pick up a device, put it through its paces and ask yourself if you like it. My answer is NO, it's not something that I would buy.

PS. If I'm any kind of Fanyboy, it's probably for Google. I use so much of their stuff that they might own me. Go to my blog and read how many times I have knocked Apple and praised Google.

Definitely not an Apple Fanboy, I have probably left a hundred or so comments on blogs outlining how Steve Jobs and Apple's army of Lawers are the worst people in IT. I actually spend way more time on a PC than a Mac and I'm convinced that they both suck.

The phone is just bad. My iPhone sucks for about 50 reasons (AT&T, Dropped Calls, Not being able to make calls, using the iPod interface, and on and on).

Wow you are the only reviewer out of all the other reviewers (some of whom are Iphone junkies) who spoke this poorly about this phone. I am not trying to sound rude but it just sounds like you and your wife are a bit slow. "I mean I'm sitting there for 5 minutes trying to figure it out...and I couldn't figure it out." Really?? No phone in the last 5 years is that complicated.
