  • Always keep your sense of humor.

  • On the second stage performance of the Runaway 5, there is a 6th member that is bald wearing make-up and jewelry playing the keyboards. On the ending credits, there is an entry something like assistant musical something or other, named Takayashi Ueno. I'm not saying that that name doesn't exist in Japanese (I don't know either way or the other), but given the rest of the content of the game this could be a nom de plume (sp?) for Brian Eno in this case. There is more evidence I could site..

  • @DejalaFlotar What are you talking about? Is this like a rumor or something? Can you be so kind and fill me in?

  • @Retrogamer712 There's actually a Mother 4 in the making by fans. Things are going pretty well!

  • @adsbegone Oh cool. So is that what DejalaFlotar was talking about?

  • @Retrogamer712 I think so.

  • this game needs more attention.people just don't know what they miss because there to busy with launching bird to kill green pigs.(mother 4 plz >_<)

  • @Typhlosionrider a guy named Chase is working on a Mother 4 fan game. I remember almost getting involved with the project when he was still on the forums over at Starmen net. But now he has his own website that shows up first when you google Mother 4. The screen shots and music look very promising, and they didnt drop that awesome 'Brownie-Brown' style Mother 3 was in.

  • Earthbound defined my childhood. Best game ever, period.

  • Reminds me of early-90's Primal Scream more than Pink Floyd. It's actually suspiciously similar to "Inner Flight" (which, in fairness, sounds like it came straight out of a JRPG anyway).

  • so relaxing...i can only close my eyes while listening to it :)

  • Love it, reminds me of the good ol days

  • Memories to this song... my older brother used to tickle me to this song when I was ... ahhh... the good old days

  • After playing Earthbound, most other game music I liked before it got one step lower in how much I liked it, eventually I found myself playing Zelda Ocarina of Time with Earthbound music playing over it, never thought I would turn down Zelda. Earthbound is fuckin' sweet.

  • @JordanMeAwesome Hmmm weird. I think that has happened to me too. It seems over time, you find better quality songs and what you thought was good before somehow doesn't sound as good anymore... and you go "Why did I like this?" But it's not just with game music. ...

Anyways. This was pretty awesome. Try listening to some of Equinox's (Solstice II) soundtracks, or Plok's. Musicians were the follins, were pretty good. : D

  • every body is gonna hate me for this but, i've never played and earthbound game

  • @crackster234

Dude I wouldn't surprised. You can only play it on the Super Nintendo and it'll cost you a pretty penny and it's extremely hard to find.

    I haven't played any either.

  • @crackster234 Me too. But I am correcting that mistake. You should too. : D

  • every body is gonna hate me for this but, i've never played and earthbound game

  • Reminds me of Pink Floyd.

  • @itrainsallday Good call, it does remind me of Pink Floyd

  • *searches for humoresque of a little dog* it makes me wanna bounce. lol

  • @Mindasphyxiation look up department store

  • @wooperboy60 or 'buy something, will ya'

  • Well I found a new theme for the summer while I write my thesis... Yeah, you heard right, a masters candidate still jams out to video game music while trying to fool the world into thinking he's an adult. Thank you to the uploader who allows me to indulge in this great instrumental while pounding out productivity!

  • love this song :)

  • This might be one the best songs in the game, its sooooo chill! :)

  • This part in EarthBound turned me onto philosophy and actually made me sit down and re-think my life at age 10. I wish I had the words to describe the feelings it impressed in me.

  • The tea gets you high.

That's why you hear this music.

  • It has always reminded me of Weather Report 's Harlequin

  • I just noticed something funny. This song sounds reminiscent like the Pink Floyd jam "Alan's Psychadellic Breakfast". Given that there were quite a few references to the Beatles and Chuck Berry, would it have been a nod to Pink Floyd?

  • Man, we have been trough a lot this year, haven't we guys? Happy new year!

  • Man how does this game make a coffee break so damn memorable?

  • That's it. Only Mr. Saturn is making my coffee from now on.

  • Why is this music so good?

  • @TheFrenchGuy Psychodelic Rock. This reminds me of Pink Floyd.

  • this music is way ahead of its time

  • It's too bad some people don't like the first one. :( Maybe if it had a Coffee Break scene, it would be better?

  • We don't know what lies ahead, but lets put our minds at ease, for we've come very far.

  • Man this part is really moving.

I shed a tear when i saw this.

  • puff puff pass man

  • @SupraDarky

I see what you did there!

    ^_^

  • 4 people are going to he-

disliked this apparently. This is the theme that played today when I got my diploma >:(

Respectless pieces of Porky's poop >.>

  • PORKY's theme was better, IoI.

  • Yeah, this is great. For some reason it always made me think of John Lennon.

  • @MaxReboEpic Actually, the Mother series is heavily inspired in The Beatles (the game's name is, of course, inspired by the song "Mother"). Moonside has the "Hello and... goodbye!". So, that probably is the reason you think of John.

  • @darkemg The entire game was heavily influenced by cultural references, so :D One of the uncountably large amount of reasons this game was so great.

  • ...No game has made me feel so good as Earthbound has.

  • The drugs in this coffee are good for you, so says Mr. Saturn.

  • @AkumaUchitoru

Sometimes, I can't even believe the own things I say. XD

  • dont make me laugh, drugs dealer or suggar excess!

  • Drink it in the hot spring!

  • that mr. saturn was really a drug dealer. coffee break (blaze session).

  • hooooo... this s***'s trippy. very good.

  • Funny how they slipped the psychedelic influence into this game without it disturbing the game ratings board.

  • Yeah.. I think it hints to the fact that surreal imagery is in some cases more relaxing than just linear earthly stuff.

  • What was in that coffee? Great music, gives you the feeling of accomplishment as you are told what you have done so far.

  • @memoriesofrem also the tea that the Tenda gives you.

  • @MarioNavi

Well we all know what was in the tea ;-)

  • @memoriesofrem it was coffee in fact

  • @memoriesofrem i think maybe ecstasy was in that coffee, but who knows

  • @memoriesofrem F...K...in the coffee!

  • One of the best songs in an RPG, IMO

  • 7,000th view! I just had to have my morning coffee,

  • What a bizarre little song! XDDD Trippiness factor 10! It's good, though ...

  • IF THE TEXT WASN'T SO LONG, I WOULD HAVE ENJOYED THIS SONG LOL.

but you know, i really liked the Paula's theme, when you find her in the house with a jail.

  • This song... as a coffee break... lets me see myself a monologue of my past, my present, and what the future holds for me, just as it did for Ness and later, Lucas.

  • The exact same music is used in Mother 3. What nostalgia.

  • ALMOST exact, the music sounds better on the SNES.

  • I'd like to know what the mr. saturns put in this coffee that makes a random summarising monologue scroll up in front of me...

  • Trippin coffee.

  • I swear the entire staff of APE was dropping acid when this scene was programmed.

  • Nah man they were just taking a coffee break

  • This would be great elevator music....

  • Fuck,now I need a sweet creamy relaxing cup 'o joe =]

I love this song,so relaxing and nostalgic.

  • There aren't many VG songs that I would download straight from the game to listen to. This is one that I would, though. So trippy, so amazing. Just like the game. :D

  • where can i download this?!

  • Nintendo, please put Earthbound on the VC. We need the kookiness in Earthbound (points at title.) Come on! In what other non casual games is a song titled like that!

  • whats VC?

  • Virtual Console

  • How? Where did you find out?

  • Do tell why you say this. And don't say the ESRB rated it.

  • Actually, I already had it for my wii, as a channel. But it took too much space, so I took it off... Still, I played it on the wii with another method that did not take as much space...

  • Lol, Wii Piracy

  • I've never played Earthbound, but this makes me want to haha.

  • Bro! XD

I've played Mother 3 as well, and was surprised it had a coffee break too :)

  • This song is best when it's heard at the time in the game that it is supposed to be played. If I recall, you get to hear this when you just hit a huge milestone in the game in Saturn Valley. This is a "sit back and feel proud of what you've accomplished" song.

  • O_O YOU ARE PSYCHIC.

I just favourited this song the other day on another a different vid and had been playing it in my head alot beforehand. I wouldn't be saying this if it weren't true!

  • I've got to get back and finish this game some day. Love the trippy atmosphere it has at times.

  • mmm...I would've been fine with some Folgers, but those Mr. Saturns brew up that GOURMET sh*t

  • Wow what a mesmerizing song!

    Beautifully done.

  • Earthbound has one of my favorite soundtracks of all time next to the neverhood. It was really different compared to most VGM you hear. SupraDarky did you ever hear music from neverhood? Or play the game? It was an awesome game with awesome music. If not, you should check it out sometime but the game neverhood goes upwards for around 50+.. Usually around 70. :(

  • I like it.

  • Great song! I wish I had this game.

  • if you don't like it you can GIIIIT OOUUTTTT!

  • Noooo how can you say that?? This is one of the most memorable music in the game!

  • I agree with ya Supra, this is a rare moment that you get in EarthBound, also the song is to make you relax while the journey is being summed up for you. This is one of the best songs next to Kraken of the Sea.

  • @SupraDarky True, but I think that most people remember Ness tripping balls after drinking a cup of coffee more than they remember the music.

  • Empathy my friend, is a word which meaning you have yet to learn.

  • Go hide under a rock, rudyxx!

  • Last time I ever voice my opinion on the internet.
