It was my first concert in my young white life at the Capital Center! We were the minority that night! From Alexandria Va.. From the home of the Titans! P-Funk brought us all together!
@unclscam i love how fast he rants through the opening lyrics then just smiles at the crowd. nobody parties onstage like george clinton. not sure why i threw judas priest in there, very confusing comment. i just really really like funkadelic and this clip.
dog I dont care if you like Judas Priest, but stop saying one is shittier than the other, you like what you like, I like what I like , did anyone diss Judas Priest here, no,
yeah, okay I will be more carefull about what I say in the future, actully when I wrote this I was in a ver sad period of my life if you know what I mean, my uncle just died and I just gave everyone a hard time. Sorry =D
Homies! I was at this show, too. The Cap Centre--my, my--those were the days! I remember those incredible EWF shows. Saw Luther Vandross' first show there. I think he opened for The Commodores. Went to see Sly & the Family Stone/Graham Central Station showdown, but Sly and his crew didn't show up (typical of Sly). GCS blew the roof off. I miss those days, but I'm grateful I was a part of it all. I grieved seeing our Cap Centre imploded. Sweet, sweet memories!
We went to Constitution Hall in DC to see him in the early 70s -- like '70 or '71, I believe. We sat there for hours only to have him come out, play for a very short time and leave. I loved Sly & The Family Stone, but he was quite unpredictable when it came to showing up for a performance.
No way -- really? I cried big tears when the Capital Centre got blown up. I am born and raised in D.C. Glad that you got to see the show. My favorite show at that venue was Luther Vandross with Vanessa Williams. Christmas and Blessings to you, -Susan
Well, Parliament-Funkadelic was the ONLY reason I went to the Cap Centre. Even though I did attend other shows, I was always at a P-Funk show. I cried too when they blown that place up. So many precious memories I had from the 70's. NOthing is the same anymore! Well, at least we do have those memories. MErry Christmas to you too and Blessings from above!
I worked in New Carrollton, MD for seven years, that is Lanham. I always used to accent the "ham" on that one. P.G. County is not the best in the D.C. area. Came out of the subway once and they were scrubbing down from a double homicide. Not good.

He brings up Motor Booty early in the clip, and the staging looks like it. One of Bernie's last tours with George.
