IF HARPER GETS MAJORITY GOVERNMENT OUR FREEDOMS WILL BE SLOWLY AND SURELY TAKEN AWAY, ITS SAD HOW MEDIA MANIPULATION ACTUALLY TURNS PEOPLE AGAINST THEIR OWN BELIEFS THEIRS MORE PARTY MEMBERS THAN JUST NDP AND CONSERVATIVE AND LIBERAL , BUT IF YOU LISTEN TO THE MEDIA YOU WOULD THINK NOT, HARPER STOP BASHING OTHER PARTIES JUST RUN YOUR OWN CAMPAIGN AND O YEA FUCK YOU
@canthavethenameutube WOW Prime Minister Harper got his majority and guess what? Nothing has changed, the world still goes on in spite of what the loonie lefties like you said.
You're a fucking tool if you truly believe that (about Harper's policies helping our economy). With people like you that have 0 exposure to basic economics/politics, the danger of a "tyranny of the majority" has never been more obvious in this once great country. From an increasingly separatist Quebecer, all thanks to this fucktwat. He's gonna get a minority anyway, thanks to the Bloc and NDP.
@ssmtl89, when you want to exchange ideas and opinions about relevant facts, be my guest. I will not respond to the garbage that you have posted here and for the record, I did not block your comment.
@GothiousRex US+Iraq War=14 trillion in debt and Canada is doing bad? After coming out of the recession the STRONGEST in the world, I think we're doing pretty damn well.
All true points! Me thinks that the Chinese will be calling soon for repayment of the US credit card, can't imagine the interest charged on $14T, good God! Fortunately in Canada, inspite of the minority status, we have faired quite well! I'd suggest to all however, this can't last with the current political landscape in Canada. this election has to provide a clear outcome. More stable economic policy, minor 'scandals' be damned, or Mike the 'American' raping our wallets with Jack and Gilles!
This is the kind of thing that makes we wonder sometimes. However, I have wondered quite a few things about Stephen Harper (of negative nature) and I have usually discovered what he did was for good reason. I think we need to know what was said by the people he's suing, and how much he's suing them for before making judgements. I find it more difficult to think that Harper is a satanic agent of George W. Bush than I do thinking that most of what he does is for good reasons.
Also, this IS a comedy show. Funny things make that point of view somehow more legitimate in our minds. Remember Talking to Americans? It was mostly moulding fact for the sake of comedy. (Although there is enough truth to it that several people in my social studies class lost faith in humanity when they watched it.) Also, if it's just $500 dollars or something, do I really care? No, I don't. Although if he is suing them for quite a bit, I would be quite concerned about his motives and character.
I feel the aim of mixing politics with humor is so people are trained to laugh it off rather than fight for change. People think "ah that's so true lol, we are so messed up" then they go about their daily lives. I don't know many activists that watch tv.. they are on the ground doing the footwork.
AscensionSeries: I disagree. Holding a public figure up to ridicule is an excellent way to prevent them from getting re-elected. No one votes for a laughingstock.
Of course, the flip side of that is a public figure needs to commit enough gaffes to become a laughingstock. The occasional screw-up is not enough to get them kicked out of office nor should it be. Everyone makes mistakes.
@12v45g,a good statement.I'm sure that quite a few people have come to your realization within the last year, since you posted this.Look,Harper is a person, just like the rest of us.He's got a family,a good job that comes with a lot of responsibility.I'd say he's done quite well, given the minority situation.People say how he is a control freak and what ever, but one does not govern a minority for 5 years without working with opponents.I say its time to give Harper a chance, give him a majority!
@cockshe I was always a liberal and I am going to vote him back in and I had even quit voting I hated conservatives after Brian Mulrooney and I don't trust politicians period but at least he has a back bone which is more than we have seen since before Trudea. The worse night mare that ever happen to this country was Brian Mulrooney and we are still paying for that to this day. Scandalist!
@lucy9359, forgive me, I'm reading your comment and not quite understanding your position. I'll hazzard a guess and suggest that you will vote Liberal in the 'pending' election. I'll tell you now that I will vote Conservative. First off, Mulroney was 20 years ago, I know some people don't forget, but it is what it is. What can Iggy do for you, can he make your life better? I'd only ask you one question. Is your life/well being, better than it was 5 years ago? If so, why go into the 'unknown'?
@cockshe No I said I am going to vote Harper back in even though I was always a liberal... Brian Mulrooney however is not in our past he never will be because the damage he did was irreversible as is the case with others...This nation hasn't had anyone with back bone for so long I never even voted in the last election I had concluded there was no point but this time I will vote Harper because I believe he will by us some time before the NWO where as Iggy even looks evil, lol!
@lucy9359, well I thank you for the clarification. I'm a long time Conservative and really hope that Canadians pay attention in this election. The P.M is not a 'scary guy' as a sampling of people will tell you. There is no 'hidden agenda' that others will have you think. Over the course of the last 5 plus years, we have been well managed economically inspite of a 'global reccession'. My question to all voters would be; 'Are you better off than you were 5 years ago'. If not, vote for your choice!
@cockshe I think Harper is a little less pandering to the US than maby some of our past elects which I believe will buy us some time before the global take over on the economy but even he is not going to stop that NWO from happening...that is the only reason I am voting for him.
@lucy9359, I'll have to agree with you, though many Canadians may wonder about it. We should say to them what 'we' think. This will be an election about what you said and who will block the 'NWO. The Conservatives have been clear in this message,Canada is Canada! We have a separate economy from the rest of the world, and frankly, due to that down turn, we were fortunate enough to have the sound policies of this government not to have felt them here!
@cockshe were on the same page with this yes...I wouldn't risk voting anyone else though I don't believe we avoided the recession it would depend what part of Canada you are from...Ontario has been hit hard and has lost a lot of jobs...many of us are struggling financially...I believe the NWO is inevitable it will happen...but at least we are buying time...I think Ignaff would be signing us up much sooner...We won't avoid the NAU under either government...it is going to happen as well...
@lucy9359,yes,forsure we are on the same page,I'm from London!2nd hardest hit area with the recent reccession! For me,I'm fortunate,so far.I've got a job with the City and although there have been ramblings,so far I'm safe! But we did take a hell of a hit,and I'm going to lay the blame squarely on the Provincial government of McGuinty! That man is at LEAST half responsible for this HST thing, just had to suck up those federal bucks! He will reap his own reward come October, trounced at the polls!
@BoredomCorner, you definately have my thumbs up on McGuinty! As for Harper, what is your alternative? Being a card carrying Conservative, it pains me to suggest to you that we stick with the 'devil we know'! I have a great amount of respect for the P.M, and truly hope that he gets the majority that he quite frankly deserves. I know many will disagree, that would be their God given right! But I think things have been managed well and for Pete's sake, do we really want another election next year?
@BoredomCorner, so sorry to hear that, hope you vote for your 'vision' of Canada in a couple of weeks. I am better off, I gained a full time public sector job, my 3 eldest children are doing well in school and can see a doctor when they are sick! I have a nice trailer that serves as a getaway from regular life. And my little guy is happy as a clam! That is all that I need to know that changing things could bring this to an end. I'll stick with the sound economic policies of our current PM!
@cockshe I will not debate the need or not for the jets as it is controversial, opinion-based and as with all insurance, it's a waste until something happens. But apart from that, you don't seem to know much about the policies and what they are really for. One example is his stance on prisons, a policy to appease the fear of the masses when undeniable evidence proves it to be a bad approach. And while you are "comfortable", many others are not, both in Canada and outside of Canada.
@cockshe Bullshit. Harper has total disgust for democracy and dissent, has been spying on anyone coming to PUBLIC campaign stops, throws out anyone if they've even given thought to another party, denied we were even in a recession (and then took credit for banking regulations that he tried to get rid of), and his party has openly threatened non-Conservatives on many occasions.
And let's not forget that the G20 incident was under federal control...
Ah, not a 'fan' of the P.M? That's o.k, nearly 60% of Canadians are not. But in our great 'first past the post' system, it is going to be enough! We are headed toward a Conservative majority! There is no dispute that we are the best managed economy in the world and while there may be some questions regarding 'ethics', lets think about this comparison wise before we throw the baby out with the bath water! Oh, it was the Ontario Guv that implemented the security perimeter,in case u forgot! HARPER!
@BoredomCorner, yes, and here is the simple explaination! Look at out economy vs other G8 countries. We are leading in employment, continued job creation and course our overall debt is nearing fractional status with regard to the US. I realise that using the US may be a poor illustration but it is common practice. We did not create the global reccession, but we handled it well, the stimulus plan has worked putting more Canadians back to work after a tough couple of years. Bravo to the P.M!
@cockshe All I see is a 50 billion dollar deficit with big plans to massively increase it by paying for super maxes and hi-tech jets for "defending" Canada from America's enemies. Where is one of those fiscally responsible conservatives of lore? I have yet to see one in the flesh.
@RFIDemocracy, sure, you see a $50B defecit and likely a $600B debt! All true. But in comparison to the rest of the world, we are quite well off and frankly, it is due to the policies of this PM! I'd never suggest that everything is perfect, cause it is not. But we have been well managed, the deficit being the result of the Economic Action Plan that has put Canadians back to work at a faster rate than other comparible countries. Defecit will be gone in 3 years, debt, who knows! Harper majority!
@RFIDemocracy, not at all! You are obviously and willfully ignoring the circumstances of our current defecit! Money had to spent to prevent catastrophic economic turmoil in the wake of the global reccession. This could even be argued for Mulroney who governed during the 91' reccession. It would almost appear that economic cycles appear to favour Liberal Canadian governments, but we know that can't be true! Our PM has done a great job initiating policies to get us back into being a productive ppl!
@cockshe I guess that billion dollars in security at the G20 and the fake lake were just economic stimulus spending. Who are we stimulating with that no-bid contract for 36 billion on jets we don't need? Canadians, I hope.
In your mind massive spending on new uberjets, megaprisons and naval ships have nothing at all to do with Canada's deficit.
Cognitive dissonance: the feeling of uncomfortable tension which comes from holding two conflicting thoughts in the mind at the same time.
@RFIDemocracy, your points are well made, but not factually accurate! You know that 'the jets' spending does not come out of 1 single budget, but for years to come! You know that the 'law & order' agenda is much the same, in the fact that these numbers will be spread out over the life of the next government! Who are trying to fool/scare, with these falsehoods? There is no dispute that we are the best managed G8 country and the sound policies of our government are responsible for these facts!
@cockshe Pure sophistry. Are we or are we not committing 36 billion dollars to jets we don't need? The only reason Canadian banks are solvent is because of regulations Harper has actively sought to dispose of and will continue to do so.
Moreover, is your vision of Canada one in which policy is written by American evangelicals? Perhaps you can explain why Harper chose as his chief of staff is the former president of Focus on the Family.
@RFIDemocracy, we are commiting I believe $30B to the F-35s, which we DO need! Can't keep on flying these CF-18s forever, think back to the helicopter fiasco under the Chretien government. We were going to get the EH-101 helicopters to replace what then were mid life choppers in the Sea King. Now look, these Sea Kings require 20 hours of service for every hour of flight! How is that responsible? For God sake, some of them are crashing now! I cannot answer as to the PM's choice for staff, so done
On March 9, a generator failure grounded the entire U.S. fleet of 10 F-35 fighter planes for up to 15 days. Because of cost increases and technical problems with the planes, the U.S. Defense Department has had to restructure the Joint Strike Force program since 2009.
"As an American, this program should be terminated immediately. It's unaffordable and the performance is unacceptable already. We need to start over and form a competitive fly before you buy selection," Wheeler said.
My friend, you keep rambling from one issue to another without challenging my 'statements' until now. Again, these craft will not be delivered for upwards of 2 years and don't you think that the the kinks may have worked out by then? This is the next generation fighter, and our boys will have it! Liberals always bash this government on defence, but it is they who drastically cut, and this government which has shown it's commitment to it! No 'sorries' when it comes to giving our troops the best!
@cockshe you are a complete jackass, i hope a squad of bombers makes there way to your innocent part of the world ... HARPER - stop wasting my money on killing innocent people!
@corybott, as a rule, and in the future, I'll not respond to anymore of your insulting posts. I will however, just this once, remind you that it was a Liberal government that put us into Afganistan.(Hey, even Chretien sucked Bush's tool after he said no to Iraq) So to you, with 4 days to go in the election, where do you come from? Are you jumping on 'Jack's wagon', cause frankly, that'd be a massive mistake! Our recovering economy cannot afford the likes of Mr.Layton. I'll pray no bombs find u!
@RFIDemocracy What do you mean we don't need the jets? Would you have our military fly in 30 year old fighters? I for one want the military to have nothing but the best equipment, I want them to come home safe at night.
I also would like us to have a real conservative party in Canada, not a middle, or slightly left of center party like the conservative party of Canada.
I want government to shrink in size and outlaw unions in the federal government and crown organizations.
@Offthehookdude Born and raised here and matter of fact, I have been to every province and territory in Canada and lived in several of them.
I scares me to see how the young generation have turned so socialist. They want the government to do everything for them.
Remember President Kennedy, he said ask not what your country can do for you but rather what can you do for your country. That is the thinking we need here in Canada, we must do what is best for the country rather than for ourselves.
@justanoldman1 Socialist in that we think that everyone deserves equal opportunity, equal rights, and minimum standards of living-even for grumpy old men like yourself. They don't want everything handed to them-in fact the "youngin's" you're referring to have been incredible activists and generous volunteers. You just probably haven't noticed because of your glaucoma. Or would you rather we force you to work until you're dead without your Old Age Security and Pension handouts, gramps?
@justanoldman1 Socialism is more about equal rights, opportunity and helping those in need. For those who are more advantaged to advocate for socialism is in fact brave and selfless. But socialist values also extend to policies that protect all Canadians from being exploited by powerful corporations. You, no matter how "strong" and "independent" you may be, you can not stop Bell or Rogers from charging you $500/month for your cellphone, policy does that. You need your government to protect you.
@hoopwizz No, socialism is more like a big union that tries to give us everything and we have to work less and less for it.
Look at how many countries are in money problems now and all because they are socialist. It just does not work, what we need is more like what Westjet has, profit sharing, that makes everyone work harder for the good of the company.
Free enterprize keeps prices down, not the government, everything they touch gets fucked up, just like the post office or medicare.
@justanoldman1 You know nothing on the subject of socialism, so why don't you listen and actually let people educate you. I am not telling you that you should be socialist, I am explaining to you what it is about.
Profit sharing is indeed a good mechanism as it encourages positive attitude, motivation and reward for effort. That is not something that an intelligent socialist would discourage but in fact promote.
@hoopwizz Really, the NDP supported the big postal union and wanted to give them the increase they asked for. The workers only work about 2 hours a day and the joke of it is if you try to work harder, the boss(still union) will tell you to slow down, you are making others look bad. That is the real socialism, no one wants to work but they still want their full pay. It failed in the USSR and every other country that tried it so why are you supporting it when it is proven not to work???
@justanoldman1 There are definitely flaws in the public service sector, it is very true that a lot of people don't get much done. This is something else that needs to change. People who work for the government are under so many regulations to prevent the ministers from looking bad in any way and it hinders their ability to work efficiently.
But this is not due to socialism and it does not detract from the current problem free enterprise is causing that I explained to you previously.
@hoopwizz I guess there is no way we are going to agree on this one.
I see everything the government does as too expensive and poorly done vis free enterprize that must compete with each other to keep the cost down.
We are at the mercy of the electric company and they keep going up and up, resturants and grocery stores compete and have sales, something the government and socialist would do away with.
Have a good life, I am old and soon will leave this mess to you kids.
@justanoldman1 Maybe not, I don't know if I'd define myself as a socialist but I'm left-leaning. I would not want the government to own enterprise, that would be communism. Mostly what I stress that we need is the government to set and enforce limitations on private organizations to limit how powerful they can become and to protect Canadians but also populations from other, less fortunate countries from exploitation. They already do this, but they keep diminishing their control.
That my friend is why you will never ever see a NDP Prime Minister. Canada Post had a better deal before they were forced back to work. The Conservatives are just doing what any Business would actually do - telling clients that provide vital services to them that they cant hold the company for ransom just because they want something and they want it now. The NDP died with Jack Layton, this new party is a piece of shit version of the Bloc.
@justanoldman1 And ideally, free enterprize would be the best system. But unfortunately it does not work that way. Free enterprize allows companies to do as they please and they abuse this power which leads to price fixing, exploitation of natural and human resources, dangers to health, etc. The increasing gap between the extremely wealthy and the rest of the population is a direct result of this. At this rate, soon the middle class of Canada will barely get by working full-time jobs.
Give me a fuckin break ..Its $16 Billion paid over 20 years for 65 F35 Jets. And in that time, those Jets will create Jobs on Canadian soil. And unless you want to strap your ass into a 35 year old F18 and do Mach 2 across the Prairies - you should do some reading and realize why they need to be replaced. If we dont replace the jets- we will have no Airforce? We dont need the Jets? Are you going to come up with some magical solution?
You are obviously a Liberal or NDP whiner. Chretien had 10 years as a Majority PM and he did whatever he wanted. The Liberals had a shit load of scandals. You just dont like the fact that our current party wants a tougher more modern Canada. The Liberals were anti-American fuck heads. Our Largest trading partner. I guess Harper got sick of hearing people around the World say 'oh yeah, isnt Canada where everyone lives in Igloos and says eh all the time?'
@cockshe You're a fucking tool if you truly believe that (mostly for your economy argument, but for pretty much everything). With people like you that have 0 exposure to basic economics/politics, the danger of a "tyranny of the majority" has never been more obvious in this once great country. From an increasingly separatist Quebecer, all thanks to this fucktwat. Won't get a majority anyway, thanks to the NDP and Bloc. Hopefully his ass is sent to jail before the end of 2011.
@BoredomCorner, while that may the case, it was the Ontario cabinet that implemented the now infamous 'security perimeter', and in secret mind you! Were there Mounties firing tear gas and rubber bullets? No, it was the T.O cops and thier buddies from the OPP! I watched extensive footage, and I didn't see one Mountie, only the Mounted unit from the T.O force. The Mounties were likely on protection detail for the leaders, they were NOT front line security. This one belongs to McGuinty!
@BoredomCorner yes I am because at least I can see what he is made of at this crusial time in our history and I know it is a ploy they have all been in contempt for a very long time Shouldnt Brian Mulrooney have been held in contempt???He sold this nation out and Ignaff my gut feeling on that guy is he reeks with the presence of evil...and anyway they will both pass the NAU...we are in trouble who ever gets in don't kid yourself it is the lessor of 2 evils!
@lucy9359 In other words, you hate Ignatieff for no reason, yet you worship a man who has literally lied to this country repeatedly, and actually tried to steal a ballot box from a legitimate poll.
@BoredomCorner, oh yes, the Prime Minister tried to steal a ballot box! That is grand! You would have a hell of a future with the Toronto Star writting, pardon me, crap, like this! Stephen Harper tried to steal a ballot box, eh? Where is your proof in this 'viral' age, cause if that had really have happened, it would have been on film from somebodies cell phone! Good thing you have anonymity of Y.T here, you may have wound up like another 'Billy' writting this garbage! Don't believe everything..
@BoredomCorner I don't worship any government people laugh because I say I believe Brian Mulrooney was ascociated with organized criminals and I ain't laughing and he was conservative...I believe Ignaff is worse and if he gets in you'll all know it...I would vote Jack Layton acsept then Ignaff will have a better chance to run...the liberal mind sets in governments are the ruin and down fall to society including Canada...Detroit Michigan is the poster boy for what liberal thinkers enable!
@BoredomCorner, what contempt?!? The motion by the Liberals? There were other ways to bring down Mr.Harper's government and the Liberals along with thier future coalition partners chose this manner! Simply because the government was not able to release documents on the opposition's time table, they force a destabilzing election during the middle of a recovery! If you call that leadership, I'd really not want to imagine your version of poor leadership, cause it does not rest with the government!
@BoredomCorner, yes, lucy9359 and many other Canadians will vote Conservative inspite of this 'frivilous' opposition motion designed for the power grab that we are now witnessing! By polling, most people did not want this election, I only hope that those who forced it are held to account by the electorate! It is high time for stable economic leadership in this country, which this government has been able to deliver in this post, for us anyways, reccession period! Elect a Conservative majority!!!
@uscrewu2, before I head off to your site, I'd like to make a few points. Primarily, while Harper would be suing Mr.Dion, there would in essence be an insurance policy in place. Therefore Mr.Harper would be suing the insurance company using Dion's name. I know your post is 2 years here, but I've gotta tell ya, I think Harper is doing a good job. We live in the best managed, (economic), country in the G 8. We have not had failures of the banks or of private citizens on a mass scale. Not bad, eh?
@PhilipJFry72 oh here you are again bashing others, oh and it seems you have no original thought with blah blah blah, bwahahahahahahahah copy and paste, steals his insults from others ahahahahahhahahah loser nazi scum
@PhilipJFry72 pedophile, stop asking me to send you pictures and videos you little boy rapist., hows that fake military career going, you know being on the front lines and texting youtubers lol liar nazi pedophile. you are a joke.
ROBDMHAZE, of VANCOUVER BC, trying to make a living with a degree in cameras (wtf is THAT all about? What a waste of a life!), you have to stop your unhealthy obsession with stalking me because I rejected you. Find another man-crush, someone that shares your obvious pedophilia... I know you artistic types have bizarre fetishes, but this is too much.
stop sending me texts asking for pictures and videos of me pedophile faggot. you are a lonely lonely man.i feel sorry for you. you should just end your life now, you are a waste of time and space. next reply from you, blah blah you bore me but i go out of my way to try to obtain pictures and videos of young boys. silly canadian pedophile. im glad i moved out of canada before you tried to find me pederass. vancouver and rob still are not me, but go nuts just like my name is usarocks69 lol
robdmhaze, who do you think you're fooling? You bore me. Funny how pathetic your life is that you have to cyberstalk me - your man-crush is pretty embarrassing now. Show some spine, and find some guy who'll love you - there has to be SOMEONE out there who respects your degree in cameras...
@PhilipJFry72 stop asking for pictures and videos of me pedophile nazi faggot. go chase little boys somewhere else. liar nazi pederass. you are so bored that you reply 3 times to me lol so bored lol dont like getting owned then dont reply.
@usarocks69 for the guy who keeps asking me for videos and pictures of myself, shows the fag pedophile you are. You try and turn around my insults to you with a copy and paste, bawhaha i guess your basement trolling didnt allow your mceducation to take hold. You keep talking your little gay banter, little pussy. say your bored ,yawn but then you reply to me 5 times in a day. lol hows that military career going moron. bwahahahhahahahaha
bwahahah bored, you cant not send out your little hate speech and bigited nazi views out. how many fights do you get into a day on youtube, i can se 6 fights you are in now. 40 year old loser. because your fat and have no life or friends does not mean you have try to exploit little children with your kiddy porn. you should be ashamed of yourself old man, you could get into real trouble with the things you are trying to get out of kids. if you are so bored and dont care then dont reply.
YAWN. Find a new mancrush, find an education worthy of respect, find a life. You bore me.
The reason I keep responding is because you're a car wreck, and much like a car wreck, you can't not slow down to take a look. You have to see just how bad it is.
Now granted, you haven't shown anything other than "blah blah blah nazi, blah blah blah pedophile, blah blah blah 40 year old" but seriously RobdmHaze, you need to stop the drugs and get on with life.
@PhilipJFry72@PhilipJFry72 nazi fascist neo con pedophile faggot, stop asking me for pictures and videos of me you fucking faggot. You belong in jail with the rest of the pedophile losers and keep trying to figure out who i am very very funny bwahahahahahah you keep getting it wrong bwahahahahhahahahhahah you are the one who replys faggot, dont like getting challenged for your hate speeches then dont post faggot. fuck off and die.
Oh now, RobdmHaze, everyone who is able to do a simple search through all your posts over the past year is able to figure out that this is you; that you created this profile and two others in order to improve your stalking of me.
Again I'm flattered, but you know, you should be using your degree in cameras to get all the gay guys you could possibly want to pound your ass silly. Stalking me is a dead end.
Well now... It seems to me that you just can't let your man-crush on me go... Seriously, I know you're stupid - who actually PAYS for a degree in cameras when you can buy a camera and read the owner's manual? - but you really have to stop this obsession with me before you get into trouble. I know you're not working now - who would hire someone STUPID enough to think a camera degree is higher education - but find a hobby, find a guy who likes you back, and find a job.
That will never happen, because WE will never allow it. I will slaughter anyone who tries to take Canada, and Stephen Harper feels the same way. Be very careful before you accuse the Prime Minister of treason.
I think he supports more free trade. I've herad from some places that Stephen Harper is an ultra-patriot. I think it's quite true. Do you REALLY think he would sell out Canada? Canada is under the control of the people. Well, it was moreso before fixed election dates, when the people could simply demand an election, as opposed to this new fixed electino dates. Frankly, I don't like it. It takes power away from the people and gives to government. The government borrows power from the people.
@Stupidfaes The fact you said this 6 months ago is strenght considering Harper is abolishing (or trying to) the long gun registry which was proposed by a conservative with Bill c-391! Thank you bill C-391!
stephen harper isn't "taking" Canada, he's giving it away - interesting that Harpo cried for and put into law fixed election dates and then decided to call an election BEFORE the fixed date - the phrase; "he speaks with a forked tongue" comes to mind
It's won't be so funny when every teenager with an internet connection gets their parents sued, and we see American style lawsuits decimate these average families. (Even the ones who are innocent)
I wish Harper would deport anyone with the screen name "merferg".
The average income in a Canadian family is about 80K, before taxes. Less than 5% of families make over 100K. I'd love to see Harper try to deport 95% of the country.
In simple constitutional terms, nothing from the floor of house of commons can be sent to a court for decision.
The fact that Harper assumed favourable decision from court, says about corrupting Judicial system & integrity of office of attorney General. Court should refer matter, without taking any action or recommendation to "Privy Clerks office". Personal plea from sitting PM,is against the democratic ethics and undermines offices of PM.
PM be impeached or his resignation to Queen will do.
Yeah I really hope that was a sarcastic statement. Pretty arrogant for a guy who makes a dumb argument. If everyone made 100K/year, inflation would make people neither rich or poor. Prices in the market would adjust proportionally to what we as people earn. Let's not even get into the topic of who will work the essential lower paying jobs we all need to function as a society. Doesn't matter how many scholars there are, you'll always have limited positions, thus we're back to square one.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I wish Harper would deport all families who do not make 100,000 dollars or more per year. Maybe if these people learned a skill or trade, then they'd fit in with the rest of Canada. If you are poor, it is your own fault- get a job.
Dude, that's over 800 000 people! My dad works for the federal government, and his salary COMBINED with my mother's salary (... she's in a trade, too) still doesn't total over 100 000$ a year. Put yourself in some non-yuppie shoes and realize that it's better to be poor and happy than rich and miserable, please.
I wish Harper would deport all families who do not make 100,000 dollars or more per year. Maybe if these people learned a skill or trade, then they'd fit in with the rest of Canada. If you are poor, it is your own fault- get a job.

You're a fucking tool if you truly believe that (about Harper's policies helping our economy).

12v45g 2 years ago
I agree. It's easy to point fingers, but do we ever do our research?
canadarox14 2 years ago
Also, this IS a comedy show. Funny things make that point of view somehow more legitimate in our minds. Remember Talking to Americans? It was mostly moulding fact for the sake of comedy. (Although there is enough truth to it that several people in my social studies class lost faith in humanity when they watched it.) Also, if it's just $500 dollars or something, do I really care? No, I don't. Although if he is suing them for quite a bit, I would be quite concerned about his motives and character.
12v45g 2 years ago
I feel the aim of mixing politics with humor is so people are trained to laugh it off rather than fight for change. People think "ah that's so true lol, we are so messed up" then they go about their daily lives. I don't know many activists that watch tv.. they are on the ground doing the footwork.
AscensionSeries 2 years ago
AscensionSeries: I disagree. Holding a public figure up to ridicule is an excellent way to prevent them from getting re-elected. No one votes for a laughingstock.
Of course, the flip side of that is a public figure needs to commit enough gaffes to become a laughingstock. The occasional screw-up is not enough to get them kicked out of office nor should it be. Everyone makes mistakes.
studentofsmith 2 years ago

Scandalist!
lucy9359 10 months ago
@lucy9359, forgive me, I'm reading your comment and not quite understanding your position. I'll hazzard a guess and suggest that you will vote Liberal in the 'pending' election. I'll tell you now that I will vote Conservative. First off, Mulroney was 20 years ago, I know some people don't forget, but it is what it is. What can Iggy do for you, can he make your life better? I'd only ask you one question. Is your life/well being, better than it was 5 years ago? If so, why go into the 'unknown'?
cockshe 10 months ago
@cockshe No I said I am going to vote Harper back in even though I was always a liberal... Brian Mulrooney however is not in our past he never will be because the damage he did was irreversible as is the case with others...This nation hasn't had anyone with back bone for so long I never even voted in the last election I had concluded there was no point but this time I will vote Harper because I believe he will by us some time before the NWO where as Iggy even looks evil, lol!
lucy9359 10 months ago
@lucy9359, well I thank you for the clarification. I'm a long time Conservative and really hope that Canadians pay attention in this election. The P.M is not a 'scary guy' as a sampling of people will tell you. There is no 'hidden agenda' that others will have you think. Over the course of the last 5 plus years, we have been well managed economically inspite of a 'global reccession'. My question to all voters would be; 'Are you better off than you were 5 years ago'. If not, vote for your choice!
cockshe 10 months ago
@cockshe I think Harper is a little less pandering to the US than maby some of our past elects which I believe will buy us some time before the global take over on the economy but even he is not going to stop that NWO from happening...that is the only reason I am voting for him.
lucy9359 10 months ago
@lucy9359, I'll have to agree with you, though many Canadians may wonder about it. We should say to them what 'we' think. This will be an election about what you said and who will block the 'NWO. The Conservatives have been clear in this message,Canada is Canada! We have a separate economy from the rest of the world, and frankly, due to that down turn, we were fortunate enough to have the sound policies of this government not to have felt them here!
A simple?R U better off now than u were 4 ago?!
cockshe 10 months ago
@cockshe were on the same page with this yes...I wouldn't risk voting anyone else though I don't believe we avoided the recession it would depend what part of Canada you are from...Ontario has been hit hard and has lost a lot of jobs...many of us are struggling financially...I believe the NWO is inevitable it will happen...but at least we are buying time...I think Ignaff would be signing us up much sooner...We won't avoid the NAU under either government...it is going to happen as well...
lucy9359 10 months ago
@lucy9359,yes,forsure we are on the same page,I'm from London!2nd hardest hit area with the recent reccession! For me,I'm fortunate,so far.I've got a job with the City and although there have been ramblings,so far I'm safe! But we did take a hell of a hit,and I'm going to lay the blame squarely on the Provincial government of McGuinty! That man is at LEAST half responsible for this HST thing, just had to suck up those federal bucks! He will reap his own reward come October, trounced at the polls!

I have a nice trailer that serves as a getaway from regular life. And my little guy is happy as a clam! That is all that I need to know that changing things could bring this to an end. I'll stick with the sound economic policies of our current PM!
cockshe 9 months ago
@cockshe I will not debate the need or not for the jets as it is controversial, opinion-based and as with all insurance, it's a waste until something happens. But apart from that, you don't seem to know much about the policies and what they are really for. One example is his stance on prisons, a policy to appease the fear of the masses when undeniable evidence proves it to be a bad approach. And while you are "comfortable", many others are not, both in Canada and outside of Canada.
hoopwizz 5 months ago
@cockshe Bullshit. Harper has total disgust for democracy and dissent, has been spying on anyone coming to PUBLIC campaign stops, throws out anyone if they've even given thought to another party, denied we were even in a recession (and then took credit for banking regulations that he tried to get rid of), and his party has openly threatened non-Conservatives on many occasions.
And let's not forget that the G20 incident was under federal control...
BoredomCorner 9 months ago
Ah, not a 'fan' of the P.M? That's o.k, nearly 60% of Canadians are not. But in our great 'first past the post' system, it is going to be enough! We are headed toward a Conservative majority! There is no dispute that we are the best managed economy in the world and while there may be some questions regarding 'ethics', lets think about this comparison wise before we throw the baby out with the bath water! Oh, it was the Ontario Guv that implemented the security perimeter,in case u forgot! HARPER!
cockshe 9 months ago
@cockshe Harper turned a surplus into a deficit, and you think he's the best with the economy?
BoredomCorner 9 months ago
@BoredomCorner, yes, and here is the simple explaination! Look at out economy vs other G8 countries. We are leading in employment, continued job creation and course our overall debt is nearing fractional status with regard to the US. I realise that using the US may be a poor illustration but it is common practice. We did not create the global reccession, but we handled it well, the stimulus plan has worked putting more Canadians back to work after a tough couple of years. Bravo to the P.M!
cockshe 9 months ago
@cockshe All I see is a 50 billion dollar deficit with big plans to massively increase it by paying for super maxes and hi-tech jets for "defending" Canada from America's enemies. Where is one of those fiscally responsible conservatives of lore? I have yet to see one in the flesh.
RFIDemocracy 9 months ago
@RFIDemocracy, sure, you see a $50B defecit and likely a $600B debt! All true. But in comparison to the rest of the world, we are quite well off and frankly, it is due to the policies of this PM! I'd never suggest that everything is perfect, cause it is not. But we have been well managed, the deficit being the result of the Economic Action Plan that has put Canadians back to work at a faster rate than other comparible countries. Defecit will be gone in 3 years, debt, who knows! Harper majority!
cockshe 9 months ago
@cockshe Brian Mulroney $38B deficit, Paul Martin $16B surplus, Stephen Harper $55B deficit.
Have you always had difficulty recognizing patterns?
RFIDemocracy 9 months ago
@RFIDemocracy, not at all! You are obviously and willfully ignoring the circumstances of our current defecit! Money had to spent to prevent catastrophic economic turmoil in the wake of the global reccession. This could even be argued for Mulroney who governed during the 91' reccession. It would almost appear that economic cycles appear to favour Liberal Canadian governments, but we know that can't be true! Our PM has done a great job initiating policies to get us back into being a productive ppl!
cockshe 9 months ago
@cockshe I guess that billion dollars in security at the G20 and the fake lake were just economic stimulus spending. Who are we stimulating with that no-bid contract for 36 billion on jets we don't need? Canadians, I hope.
In your mind massive spending on new uberjets, megaprisons and naval ships have nothing at all to do with Canada's deficit.
Cognitive dissonance: the feeling of uncomfortable tension which comes from holding two conflicting thoughts in the mind at the same time.
RFIDemocracy 9 months ago
@RFIDemocracy, your points are well made, but not factually accurate! You know that 'the jets' spending does not come out of 1 single budget, but for years to come! You know that the 'law & order' agenda is much the same, in the fact that these numbers will be spread out over the life of the next government! Who are trying to fool/scare, with these falsehoods? There is no dispute that we are the best managed G8 country and the sound policies of our government are responsible for these facts!
cockshe 9 months ago
@cockshe Pure sophistry. Are we or are we not committing 36 billion dollars to jets we don't need? The only reason Canadian banks are solvent is because of regulations Harper has actively sought to dispose of and will continue to do so.
Moreover, is your vision of Canada one in which policy is written by American evangelicals? Perhaps you can explain why Harper chose as his chief of staff is the former president of Focus on the Family.
RFIDemocracy 9 months ago 11
@RFIDemocracy, we are commiting I believe $30B to the F-35s, which we DO need! Can't keep on flying these CF-18s forever, think back to the helicopter fiasco under the Chretien government. We were going to get the EH-101 helicopters to replace what then were mid life choppers in the Sea King. Now look, these Sea Kings require 20 hours of service for every hour of flight! How is that responsible? For God sake, some of them are crashing now! I cannot answer as to the PM's choice for staff, so done
cockshe 9 months ago
@cockshe
RFIDemocracy 9 months ago
My friend, you keep rambling from one issue to another without challenging my 'statements' until now. Liberals always bash this government on defence, but it is they who drastically cut, and this government which has shown it's commitment to it! No 'sorries' when it comes to giving our troops the best!

cockshe 9 months ago
@RFIDemocracy What do you mean we don't need the jets? Would you have our military fly in 30 year old fighters? I for one want the military to have nothing but the best equipment, I want them to come home safe at night.
I also would like us to have a real conservative party in Canada, not a middle, or slightly left of center party like the conservative party of Canada.
I want government to shrink in size and outlaw unions in the federal government and crown organizations.
justanoldman1 6 months ago
@justanoldman1 do you even live in Canada? Not saying you don't it's just your comment seemed very american to me
Offthehookdude 6 months ago
@Offthehookdude Born and raised here and matter of fact, I have been to every province and territory in Canada and lived in several of them.
I scares me to see how the young generation have turned so socialist. They want the government to do everything for them.
Remember President Kennedy, he said ask not what your country can do for you but rather what can you do for your country. That is the thinking we need here in Canada, we must do what is best for the country rather than for ourselves.
justanoldman1 6 months ago
@justanoldman1 Socialist in that we think that everyone deserves equal opportunity, equal rights, and minimum standards of living-even for grumpy old men like yourself. They don't want everything handed to them-in fact the "youngin's" you're referring to have been incredible activists and generous volunteers. You just probably haven't noticed because of your glaucoma. Or would you rather we force you to work until you're dead without your Old Age Security and Pension handouts, gramps?
Somnilocus 5 months ago
@justanoldman1 Socialism is more about equal rights, opportunity and helping those in need. For those who are more advantaged to advocate for socialism is in fact brave and selfless. But socialist values also extend to policies that protect all Canadians from being exploited by powerful corporations. You, no matter how "strong" and "independent" you may be, you can not stop Bell or Rogers from charging you $500/month for your cellphone, policy does that. You need your government to protect you.
hoopwizz 5 months ago
@hoopwizz No, socialism is more like a big union that tries to give us everything and we have to work less and less for it.
Look at how many countries are in money problems now and all because they are socialist. It just does not work, what we need is more like what Westjet has, profit sharing, that makes everyone work harder for the good of the company.
Free enterprize keeps prices down, not the government, everything they touch gets fucked up, just like the post office or medicare.
justanoldman1 5 months ago
@justanoldman1 You know nothing on the subject of socialism, so why don't you listen and actually let people educate you. I am not telling you that you should be socialist, I am explaining to you what it is about.
Profit sharing is indeed a good mechanism as it encourages positive attitude, motivation and reward for effort. That is not something that an intelligent socialist would discourage but in fact promote.
hoopwizz 5 months ago
@hoopwizz Really, the NDP supported the big postal union and wanted to give them the increase they asked for. The workers only work about 2 hours a day and the joke of it is if you try to work harder, the boss(still union) will tell you to slow down, you are making others look bad. That is the real socialism, no one wants to work but they still want their full pay. It failed in the USSR and every other country that tried it so why are you supporting it when it is proven not to work???
justanoldman1 5 months ago
@justanoldman1 There are definitely flaws in the public service sector, it is very true that a lot of people don't get much done. This is something else that needs to change. People who work for the government are under so many regulations to prevent the ministers from looking bad in any way and it hinders their ability to work efficiently.
But this is not due to socialism and it does not detract from the current problem free enterprise is causing that I explained to you previously.
hoopwizz 5 months ago
@hoopwizz I guess there is no way we are going to agree on this one.
I see everything the government does as too expensive and poorly done vis free enterprize that must compete with each other to keep the cost down.
We are at the mercy of the electric company and they keep going up and up, resturants and grocery stores compete and have sales, something the government and socialist would do away with.
Have a good life, I am old and soon will leave this mess to you kids.
justanoldman1 5 months ago
@justanoldman1 Maybe not, I don't know if I'd define myself as a socialist but I'm left-leaning. I would not want the government to own enterprise, that would be communism. Mostly what I stress that we need is the government to set and enforce limitations on private organizations to limit how powerful they can become and to protect Canadians but also populations from other, less fortunate countries from exploitation. They already do this, but they keep diminishing their control.
hoopwizz 4 months ago
@justanoldman1 I wish you a good rest of your life as well, all the best.
hoopwizz 4 months ago
@justanoldman1
That my friend is why you will never ever see a NDP Prime Minister. Canada Post had a better deal before they were forced back to work. The Conservatives are just doing what any Business would actually do - telling clients that provide vital services to them that they cant hold the company for ransom just because they want something and they want it now. The NDP died with Jack Layton, this new party is a piece of shit version of the Bloc.
lairdriver 1 month ago
@lairdriver Yes, I do believe you are right.
justanoldman1 1 month ago
@justanoldman1 And ideally, free enterprize would be the best system. But unfortunately it does not work that way. Free enterprize allows companies to do as they please and they abuse this power which leads to price fixing, exploitation of natural and human resources, dangers to health, etc. The increasing gap between the extremely wealthy and the rest of the population is a direct result of this. At this rate, soon the middle class of Canada will barely get by working full-time jobs.

@BoredomCorner, while that may the case, it was the Ontario cabinet that implemented the now infamous 'security perimeter', and in secret mind you! I watched extensive footage, and I didn't see one Mountie, only the Mounted unit from the T.O force. The Mounties were likely on protection detail for the leaders, they were NOT front line security. This one belongs to McGuinty!

By polling, most people did not want this election, I only hope that those who forced it are held to account by the electorate! It is high time for stable economic leadership in this country, which this government has been able to deliver in this post, for us anyways, reccession period! Elect a Conservative majority!!!

Yep that's the Conservative way, sue when threatened with the truth.
This is an American tactic called SLAP suits.
People can't afford to fight multimillion dollar law suits so they do as their told and shut their mouths.
Just another bully tactic from the Harper camp
Worked to the tune of 2.2 million for Harper's hero Mulroney.

@usarocks69
YAWN.
PhilipJFry72 1 year ago
stop sending me texts asking for pictures and videos of me pedophile faggot. you are a lonely lonely man.i feel sorry for you. you should just end your life now, you are a waste of time and space. next reply from you, blah blah you bore me but i go out of my way to try to obtain pictures and videos of young boys. silly canadian pedophile. im glad i moved out of canada before you tried to find me pederass. vancouver and rob still are not me, but go nuts just like my name is usarocks69 lol

@usarocks69
robdmhaze, who do you think you're fooling? You bore me. Funny how pathetic your life is that you have to cyberstalk me - your man-crush is pretty embarrassing now. Show some spine, and find some guy who'll love you - there has to be SOMEONE out there who respects your degree in cameras...
PhilipJFry72 1 year ago
@PhilipJFry72 stop asking for pictures and videos of me pedophile nazi faggot. go chase little boys somewhere else. liar nazi pederass. you are so bored that you reply 3 times to me lol so bored lol dont like getting owned then dont reply.

@usarocks69 for the guy who keeps asking me for videos and pictures of myself, shows the fag pedophile you are. You try and turn around my insults to you with a copy and paste, bawhaha i guess your basement trolling didnt allow your mceducation to take hold. You keep talking your little gay banter, little pussy. say your bored ,yawn but then you reply to me 5 times in a day. lol hows that military career going moron. bwahahahhahahahaha
usarocks69 1 year ago
bwahahah bored, you cant not send out your little hate speech and bigited nazi views out. how many fights do you get into a day on youtube, i can se 6 fights you are in now. 40 year old loser. because your fat and have no life or friends does not mean you have try to exploit little children with your kiddy porn. you should be ashamed of yourself old man, you could get into real trouble with the things you are trying to get out of kids. if you are so bored and dont care then dont reply.
usarocks69 1 year ago
@usarocks69

@usarocks69
PhilipJFry72 1 year ago
@usarocks69
PhilipJFry72 1 year ago
That will never happen, because WE will never allow it. I will slaughter anyone who tries to take Canada, and Stephen Harper feels the same way. Be very careful before you accuse the Prime Minister of treason.

How come Harper supports the North American Union then?
CARIBOU07 2 years ago 2
I think he supports more free trade. I've herad from some places that Stephen Harper is an ultra-patriot. I think it's quite true. Do you REALLY think he would sell out Canada? Canada is under the control of the people. Well, it was moreso before fixed election dates, when the people could simply demand an election, as opposed to this new fixed electino dates. Frankly, I don't like it. It takes power away from the people and gives to government. The government borrows power from the people.
12v45g 2 years ago
you may be right if Stephen Harper didn't have a shrine to George Bush in his closet, but unfortunately, it is not an ideal world.
Stupidfaes 2 years ago
@Stupidfaes The fact you said this 6 months ago is strenght considering Harper is abolishing (or trying to) the long gun registry which was proposed by a conservative with Bill c-391! Thank you bill C-391!

@CARIBOU07 I wouldn't mind it with Canada...
raptors222222 6 months ago
stephen harper isn't "taking" Canada, he's giving it away - interesting that Harpo cried for and put into law fixed election dates and then decided to call an election BEFORE the fixed date - the phrase; "he speaks with a forked tongue" comes to mind

It's won't be so funny when every teenager with an internet connection gets their parents sued, and we see American style lawsuits decimate these average families. (Even the ones who are innocent)
Yay Social Creationism!
radicalathiest 3 years ago 2
I wish Harper would deport anyone with the screen name "merferg".
The average income in a Canadian family is about 80K, before taxes. Less than 5% of families make over 100K. I'd love to see Harper try to deport 95% of the country.
tuotierugif 3 years ago
That's untrue. About the families, etc.
HeWillBeManchester 3 years ago
In simple constitutional terms, nothing from the floor of house of commons can be sent to a court for decision.
The fact that Harper assumed favourable decision from court, says about corrupting Judicial system & integrity of office of attorney General. Court should refer matter, without taking any action or recommendation to "Privy Clerks office". Personal plea from sitting PM,is against the democratic ethics and undermines offices of PM.
PM be impeached or his resignation to Queen will do.
Fixhist 3 years ago
Yeah I really hope that was a sarcastic statement. Pretty arrogant for a guy who makes a dumb argument. If everyone made 100K/year, inflation would make people neither rich or poor. Prices in the market would adjust proportionally to what we as people earn. Let's not even get into the topic of who will work the essential lower paying jobs we all need to function as a society. Doesn't matter how many scholars there are, you'll always have limited positions, thus we're back to square one.
