That is awesome. I remember one of my collegues from the physics classes telling me that we still don't know if the lightning goes from the ground or from the sky first. Well of course it seems like it's originating from the sky but the "return stroke" is yet undefined and this illustrates is pretty well. When the lightning toutches the ground the fastest path is the only one to carry all the power and the other ones fade. a bit like the wave function crumbles once quantic states are defined.
