The FORTUNES sound was unique. Pitched somewhere between the melancholy of the Ivy League, & the upbeat jollity of the Hollies. The Band's Decca recordings remain unbeatable (even by their own later achievements). The Fortunes harmonic presence, filled with emotion, resonating in a sound that encapsulated the Beauty of 1960's Pop Culture.
The late Rod Allen The voice of the sixties. Indisputable and at the same time this little gem should have topped the uk charts for two months back in 1966. It didn`t because a lot of people didn`t realise how good this band were. Brilliant memories.
Love The Fortunes 60's songs with the orchestration like this. A group who should have more CD's out of their original 60's songs. Anything they recorded for Decca in the UK and Press/London in the US needs to be reissued on CD.
I found a promo 45promo of this and only heard it one time on a local station in Cincinnati. Thanks for posting.

One of their very best, should have been a follow up single to one of their hits.
