There are many fine performances of this great trio on video, but I do not think I have ever been as moved as I am by this one. 68bobsport is quite right, I am sure, in identifying the Marschallin of Anna Tomowa-Sintow - a great account of the role, from the facial expression in the silence that precedes her first words to her reluctant 'In Gottes namen'

The Marschallin is Anna Tomowa-Sintow, and the Sophie is Janet Perry.

Its Agnes Baltsa as Octavian & Lucia Popp I reckon as Marschallin. Who is the Sopie?Salzburg Festival I think - set is a dead ringer for the Czinner film tho Octavian is wearing a different costume to the blue one Jacket Sena Jurinac wore in the film - mind you Sena v tall and Baltsa pretty short so prob needed to make whole new one.
