Let's not get carried away. It's a fine performance, but any 1st, 2nd or 3rd violinist in a major symphony orchestra could replicate this effort fairly easily. It's a nice arrangement and execution, but playing up-tempo is something that professional violinists do as drill. I have a friend who's in the violin section in the Nashville Symphony. I showed her the The Storm video.  She said: Vivaldi, 4 Seasons. She picked up her violin and played it up-tempo. Sounded about the same as here.

@bailinnumberguy I'm lucky enough to be seeing Yanni, and I believe Samvel still tours with him, in April. I'd note two things here. First, the speed at which he's playing. While that that's not necessarily a feat in and of itself: Second, His pitch is outstanding for the speed. Especially on the very high notes. I personally can hear where he gets off speed (could be written that way, but I'd suspect not), still wow... Tough piece of music to play so well. One of the best in the world? Yes
