lol some kind of precision understeer, that's cause he's not driving it fast enough, therefore not getting enough downforce to cut through the corners, similar to an F1
In English use, Porsche is often pronounced incorrectly as a single syllable (/ˈpɔrʃ/), without a final /ə/. However, the company's proper pronunciation is /ˈpɔrʃə/ POR-shə[52] ("Porsh-uh"), as German language words do not have silent "e".
with thanks to them cameras. are you having a joke, they were shit. Buy some proper ones. That video could have been made so much better and pleasing for the viewer but them cameras spoiled it for me.
You know since the dawn of televison we kinda need 24fps or more to call something 'video'.. :D This is about 4... Reminds me of running Indycar Racing on a 386. :P
I`m starting to wonder if Chris Harris is the Stig????They both have the ability to just jump into ANY car,and drive it like it`s the only car they`ve ever driven.....
well if audi is so good at racing then why are their road cars lacking?? sure they got the R8 and a few good RS cars but their regular cars just aren't that great. BMW definitely has the upper hand when it comes to building a fantastic sports sedan.
I've been watching alot of videos with Autocar and Mr. Chris Harris, somehow I feel he deserves alot of recognition due to his accurate and interesting reviews of cars. It's not close to Top Gear's Jeremy clarkson but I would love to see Mr. Harris being featured in TG. That would be very interesting.
I have seen this before but failed to hear that it is 500 HP and only 750 KG (about 1600lbs)! That would make it the weight of my VW Karmann Ghia, just a little faster....
I think your math is backwards montels, that'd be 3 lbs for every horsepower :P
But I agree, the power:weight on these things is ridiculous. The GT1 cars have more horsepower but they can't even begin to compete in the weight category.
I heard next year they're gonna try to slow the LMP1/2's down a little bit though, hope it doesn't happen.
the brakes on the 2005 - 2008 porsche rs spyder are a Two-circuit hydraulic braking system, six piston aluminum monobloc brake calipers, front and rear ventilated carbon brake discs, F: 380 mm diameter R: 355 mm diameter
Porsche did race in F1 in 62 it won the FrenchGP which was the only Porsche gp win until all Porsches pulled out in64.after that, they returned in the 80s as engine suppliers winning constructor and driver titles.91 was the last f1 presence due to very pour results.I hope they return to f1 too but I think that winning gt-fia gt2.ngt-and endurance races-24h lemans, daytona,rally-is more important for road car development than f1 because it better relates to real use of cars.
I think we'll see Porsche back in Le Mans some day... battling for the overall win. The new rules ACO are planning to be used from 2010 sounds interesting, and it's not only closed cockpits (like 908), it will be a completely revamped class. Most likely something like the mid/late 90's GTP/LMGT1 class. Porsche should start making some Carrera GT blueprints... :D
So, what's the problem with P2 winning overall? It used to bug me, but now I think it adds variety, especially since Audi really has no competition in P1.
This car is amazing, so much so that it even beat cars that were in the class above

Does anyone know how much (approx in percent!) of the total downforce on these types of cars, that are generated from the underbody suction alone?
This thing has a flat floor all the way right?!...not like F1 with the stepped floors!

Porsche bought Audi last year!
There won`t be any ass kicking!
mightymus 4 years ago
well porsche owned audi long before last year.
Shaolen 4 years ago 4
Sure?
Porsche AG bought last year VW AG.
And a part of VW is Audi.
Perhaps you can say there was an influence of Porsche before.
But now Porsche is the biggest owner of Audi and whole VW AG.
mightymus 4 years ago
I thought Porsche and VW were already pretty much the same company since Dr. Porsche invented both.
Shaolen 4 years ago 3
No,Dr. Porsche developed the Beatle.
And in 1950's he tuned VW cars.
But it doesn't matter.
Perhaps they will have any battles on race track in future, too.
mightymus 4 years ago 3
guys guys guys.... porsche bought vw 51%, audi belongs to vw with about 98%!!
als oto vw belongs bentley, bugatti, skoda, skania, and 30% of MAN

bmw bought sauber which designs the chassis. porsche should be in LMP1, not LMP2. the aco intends the P2 class to be for privateers.
LolaJudd 4 years ago
Yes, because I am so sure that you are keen to what the ACO intends.
evan1005 4 years ago
the aco didn't make the P2 class as a different way to get overall victories.
