This is sick-nasty with a ridiculousness....if there's a such word!! Please let me know when your instructional dvd comes out if you don't already have one. Remain blessed
Lookin' for some charlie earland and some good footage of brother jack mcduff (with Jimmy witherspoon if it's out there) I've got a record called "the blues is now" from '63 with Jimmy and brother jack, and Melvin sparks, guitar. Great record on VERVE, but long out of print. Very soulful playing. Hey, man....you are doing a spectacular job....keep up the good work! I'm also a big Vincent Crane fan (crazy world of arthur brown, atomic rooster) excellent hammond player, too
Yeah! Sounds like a good solid knowledge of scales and how they relate to each other in terms of mode and chord change. We need more pros out there breaking this down for the beginners. I am definately intrigued. MORE!
Love and/or hate is irrelevant. At one time I owned two B3 with leslie units, I practiced many hours with all 25 of the pedals. Yes, I know the high visibility players used left hand to run the bass lines which begs the question; What are those 25 pedals for? More practice is required. The extra work pays big dividends. Sure would like to find one of those RT models with 32 on the floor. Play well!
I still have one B3 but it currently resides in a church located in neighboring town. At my age the transport of that beast? Not an option. I do have access to Hammonds in order to avoid complete loss of 'chops'. If I'm able to get help from some hi-tech friends I'll post a video. I'll do the playin', the techies should do the rest.
famo unc got feet dont sleep....but pedal solos aint his thang...but he still kills dem pedal...imagine a shout solo at high bpm holding down the bass with 1 not 2, 1 foot...n he killed up top n on the floor Dig
you guys need to check out robert stephens fron NJ, Dont know if he has any vids out but look out for that dude. He's a situation, and every bit as good

Gospel organists are the best in the Hammond B-3 biz... rock organists take notes.....much to learn from these guys!!
Start playing a B-3. C-3. M-3 or A100 with the waterfall key action and you will improve your skills many times over!
buddhashake 3 years ago
what do you mean by waterfall key action?
jmacyoshi 2 years ago
Waterfall keys drop from the edge of the key down like a piano. You can't stick your finger under the key.
