@djamorpheus i'm sorry i made this comment nearly a year ago, and this video was uploaded in 2009. something i probably didn't even notice. and since then, the american government gave 400 billion dollars to gaza, to rebuild. that happened after the raid on the humantarian aid ship by israel. anyways one way or the other, i made this comment over a year ago, and i don't even remember making it. i only remember the announcement, that the american government was giving aid to gaza.

legally speaking, Israel must return the land it stole (twice): 1948 it seized 50% more land than was alloted to it under the UN partition plan, then again in 1967 when Israel conquers & occupies Sinai, Gaza and the West Bank from Jordan and the Golan Heights from Syria. a UN resolution called for Israel to end their illegal occupation and withdraw from the territories - which Israel ignored.

in 1948 5 arabic armies attacked Israel. they got beaten and Israel captured vast territories, mostly in the desert though. so, agressors (arabs that time) got punished. since then the territories were cultivated; grass, trees, bushes were planted; some lands were turned into agricultural fields, on others towns and villages were built. so, it fairly belongs to Israel now. and it would be extremist demand to hand the lands over to Palestinian side. so, forget 48-49 war, its outcome

in 1967 Israel attacked its arabic neighbors and captured the whole of Palestine. those territories, in my opinion, should be returned to Palestinians although it's very difficult task now. Israel really does not want to and Palestine is not capable of returning all occupied in 1967 war lands. but don't you think good chunk of blame for that should be put on Palestian authorities (Arafat) as well? in times of Rabin and later on Israel was ready to return 99%

of all occupied in 1967 territories. but palestinian side rejected the deal twice. was it wise? no. then failure to get peace agreement done and continuing teracts turned most of Israelis to right-wingers and real peaceful solution for Palestinians is not even on horizon nowadays. so, very real chances for peace for Palestine were missed.

That was a bad call for the Palestinians to reject the 1967 plan . I doubt they'd reject it now. It seems now Israel is rejecting it. Well if they rejected in then does that give Israel the right to encroach the land with thousands of settlers and settlements?

complicated issue that's the only thing i can say. very often the rights are not given but they are taken. in 1948-1949 arabs took *the right* to destroy Israel, in 1967 Israel took *the right* for whole Palestine in its hands. in my opinion, occupied in 1967 lands should be returned to palestinians but how to do that practically, how to reach the corresponding agreement i have no idea.

this conflict will *never* end, because the conservative hawks & warpigs in Israel are unwilling to compromise, and Israel continues to *expand* its settlements to this day. Israel intends to drive the Palestinians out of their homeland.

It is because we already gave one side arms at the beginning plus mass destruction technology later and the other side over three generations of economy sanction. If our history allows us telling the truth in it, it will be the truth. Which government doesn't allow people telling the truth?

Israel is the only country in the world that doesn't have frontiers!!! how can this b possible??? they want to occupy more and more territory in Palestine and as they said "get rid of the animals" referring to the Gaza people. If they continue with this massacre (weather is in Gaza or Lebanon) they will probe Hitler was right when he called them the same.

I understand the statement of ChomsKy, where should Israel go? Who would take Israel. Ok stop the crime and then? Waiting for more missiles, maybe invasion. I think that the US and Israel policy in the area has been basically wrong, but still I fail to see a different solution. There are generations of hatred on both sides. The two staes settlement is really a solution? I mean does that stop hamas from rocketing Israel? I like Chomsky, but in this case I think he lacks of pragmatism

I am sooo dissapointed. I can't believe this mad israeli obsession to get Palestinians to cry "Uncle". "Never forget, never forgive", has replaced "never again". It seems the only lesson learned from WWII was : how to go about destroying the weak. Oh, and the Jews ("THOSE jews", anyway) really are "the superior race"... or else. I SURE HOPE president Obama has some cards hidden up his sleeves, or steel balls hidden away somewhere, 'cause we're gonna need them to end this pure madness.

he's right. the only just and stable solution would be to return occupied lands and water sources to palestinians and let them build an independent state. it would be only possible if US puts some pressure on Israel. will it happen with Obama's administration? never. and so would be with israel-palestinian peace.

Israel OWNS Washington and they have no intention whatsoever of returning any of the illegally occupied land to the Palestinians. Israel will continue to build settlements until they've taken all of the occupied territories. Israel will drive the Palestinians out... while the rest of the world is too afraid to criticize Israel.
