@Galayman2 It would be a rocket launcher. The things the Buratino fires are unguided, AFAIK. It's called a flamethrower because it projects temperature-based ammo, such as thermobaric rockets, to clear structures instead of destroying them. All that fire? just fireworks. TOS-1 and TOS-1A were intended to combat infantry and lightly armored vehicles, not Abrams or Merkavas.

Nah, it's OK strategy, especially if you are located from your foe 8 kilometers away and if you can unleash on your foe bunch of highly combustible and explosive shells.

This particular rocket artillery system is not supposed to have any defense. Because it is still considered artillery, i mean it supports regular artillery with it's rocket technology. And the whole STRATEGY in artillery is to bomb your foe, then relocate and get more ammo 2 bomb again ;)

As he describes at the end, it has a major weakness. Sounds like there is no armor on the missile section. Couple of rounds hit that and the whole thing blows up. Not good engineering. Like one of the early Soviet armored personnel carriers... They designed it to be low slung so it wasn't an easy target. But that meant the rear door was the fuel tank. Which meant that if an enemy could wait for it to pass and hit the rear, the tank exploded and the troops inside were cooked .
