On slower pieces, playing with trill speeds are more important than in faster. You can do so much more with them, instead of going lightening fast all the time.
Have you also considered upgrading from a Y23 to something better?
Your attacks can be a little cleaner also. Just something to pay attention to. Your vibrato sounds like it's controlled like a flute player.
i have no idea! sorry. on the slow songs i pretty much just go by the title and feel for phrasing. not the best thing to do but that's why i'm me and why you'll do much better than me if you follow the rules.
Hey, great playing. Do you think you could post up videos of you playing etudes 13, 22, and 42? Those are the etudes selected this year for all state tryouts.
There are some spots that could use softer articulations on the entrances. More dynamics always makes a piece more exciting. On the cadenza I'd start even slower and slowly accellerando, then ritard a lot before the fermata. Unless it sounds obnoxious, you can always use more vibrato. Also, a common problem is for high notes to sound thin or tinny. Yours weren't bad at all, but open your throat and use faster air.
Thanks, only the best ligature will do for my jalopy!!! i'm rockin' a yamaha student horn that's literally held together with glue and strings. what do you have?
I really like this piece, I can appreciate the subtleness of your vibrato, having played many classical Alto pieces myself. Good job! Nice leather ligature, by the way, I have a vandoren.
Who do you study under?

man. you need a lot of metronome work on this. you should try to limit your breaths as well..... you often breath in the middle of phrases.
