@joek0617 You are correct about the torque, but in the case of my blower at least, I could throw snow farther and because I never changed the speed of my tires, the amount of snow it had to throw-per-minute did not change and I had plenty of power before. Just not enough distance.
The 2nd biggest benefit was slush did not plug the blower as easily because of the extra impeller speed.
@Penguinboy1995 putting (tire?) rubber on the impeller blades decreases the space between the impeller and the housing, preventing snow from slipping past it. this mod just makes it throw more snow, but it requires more power from the engine.
this was a rough video...

creative solution. I was thinking of using soft plastic or nylon. I see if I get around to it.
I just got a new blower and have to start my mods over. ;)
One of my favorite mods is drop down a few sizes on the impeller pulley, that gets you some distance too. :)

@l337pwnage it also gives you less torque, so when you hit the end of driveway, your engine will bog far easier...

So you basically just attached hardened rubber strips to the tips of the impeler to cover the whole chute area?
stlouissux9119 1 year ago
@stlouissux9119 yeah before there was a 1/4 in gap between impeller and housing no there isnt it actually works better
briggs4life1 1 year ago
Did you pull the auger housing off in order to do this?
