  • back then people could actually identify themselves with the music they were listening to :)

  • One of my favorite bands of the 90's.

    Soundtrack of my teenage years...

  • i like his voice, it's like chuck ragan without the grating

  • great song

  • why haven't I listened to these guys years ago, I would have been saved.

  • I love this band so much!

  • Buffalo Tom on top of their game. Plenty of briliant songs and still so underrated...what's wrong with the world????

  • @ZigZagWanderer

The world just listen to shit...what a shame.

  • This band is just amazing!

  • why the hell ar buffalo tom's songs so good??!!!

  • @xpopo77 cuz buffalos are good. also, toms are good.

  • Yeah those goosebumps start and if they aren't there by the crescendo I'm allowed then you are a sodajerk for not allowing yourself to be human and feel sorrow for the lousy music that has been around now for 10 years and no end in sight to the recession.

  • @11xzxzxz

yeah, too many people got there too late for these guys.

And when the party started for them, no one recognized them,,,except for we few lost conversationalist's, who took the time to stop talking and listen.

Sure, there are over 48 thousand views, but shouldn't it be more like 480,000?

    Peace.

    Rock

  • @rockinroller7 so true and it should be 480,000. Do you understand the lyrics .. not the "allowed" part but "signals crossed" later the "vivid as a car wreck" .. another accident, same accident, is his mom killed and gave birth to band member? Don't have to tell me now but if I get killed on the road tonight the police will allow themselves in to arrest you ..

I do know J Marcis produced 2 records & they took their name for Buffalo Springfield .. WOW.

  • @11xzxzxz You're asking a "Hopeless romantic ."

Having to wait 25 years for an answer due to mistakes in choices at a young age.

They wanted each other, but found themselves with someone else.

25 years leaves much weight, and time alone with one's thoughts. They become older, lived unhappy lives, one married, one not, drifting away from friends.

There's nothing more "vivid,' than an alcoholic women offering her heart to an old boyfriend.

    Making both of them, "Allowed."

    Peace.

  • @rockinroller7 Sounds like you got it down. Nice interpretation.

  • @11xzxzxz

Thanks, but let's be clear, it is my interpretation.

    I'd like to read other's.

    Peace.

    Rock

  • @rockinroller7 Sure there are other interps but yours will be the best as you are real good at that. I just read the lyrics and just was a little angry at myself for my quick hit and run interpretation when I floored it, I just centered on the "accident" too literally : the bleeding - couldn't lift weight - traffic signals crossed - and took the "vivid as a car wreck" literally I guess.

  • @11xzxzxz

It may seem strange, but i believe the whooe song was written around the word "Vivid," or at least the different interpretations it provides.

you can pretty much switch that verse with the first verse, and get the same feeling, for me.

    Peace.

    Rock

  • @rockinroller7 sorry your fine interpretation scared everyone off. No Pplease everyone take this song on and Only Griffin108etc has the real answer but I was too shy to ask him about his personal experiences that made him feel he lived out the song.

  • @11xzxzxz

Well, it is that time of year, and I didn't even have to wear a mask.

Someone will get to it eventually.

    Peace.

    Rock

  • @rockinroller7 Hey this song reminds me in a far away way of Name by the Goo Goo Dolls. But this song is a lot better to me.

  • @rockinroller7 Only 104 thumbs up and I know someone in the last few minutes gave it a thumbs down - went from 1 to 2. I know it wasn't you or me but could it be a stalker?????? I'm allowed to speculate. I don't think I ever heard this great song on the radio once.

  • @11xzxzxz

Stalker? Yes, very possible, when a person gets no response from a message their true colors show.

    No, "Soda Jerk," was it.

So many great songs. No time given to hear them.

    Peace.

    Rock

  • @rockinroller7 In the internet universe of lawlessness it seems blogs or videos that cause someone to suicide is not allowed. But not yet stalking! Stalking is allowed until a cause celebre case of say the recent gay suicide helps us decide what is right and wrong.

  • @11xzxzxz

    Amen.

    Peace.

    Rock

  • @rockinroller7 Sorry this was on red letter but my friend said to buy the one with the old Indian on the cover but I still came out ok.

  • I agree Dazzazulu. The early 90's was one of the greatest eras of music ever. But then it got all corporatized and they ruined the alt scene and left it in shambles when they were done with it.

  • What cool song. Too bad the 2000s and 2010's suck!

  • music was really good at one time- thank you buffalo tom

  • @tkotan Thanks to J Mascis from Dinosaur Jr too for produce two firsts awesome albums. Good job guys and thanks for share it.

  • The billboard bullshit says never ...

  • question is, when will get back to a time when indie music is this good again?

  • When the bands stop to get a soul in eBay or amazon i think :D

  • @masurra unfortunately it will never get that good again.

  • @sirka067 Actually I thnk it will someday, the 90's indie/grunge wave was in a way a reaction against how monumentally mainstream music sucked at that time, ppl started their own rockbands that played their songs like it was the last time in life instead of standing the stadium rockers and the euro-techno.

Hopefully someday musically skilled ppl do a similar revolt agains the mainstream wave of americas top idol kind of music.

Buffalo Tom on the other hand I think have faded, and that's it.

  • Best of 90's no doubt.............ask me?

  • Ace!

  • Thanks to the first music channel in NZ this song got good airplay here. Haven't heard it in 15 years. Like other posters, too long

  • Thanks to these guys, this is really a very good song, with a successful album.

    Best in 1993!

  • Wearing that uniform, carrying so many weapons, is a life changing experience.

You come back, but everything is different, except your real friends.

    Peace.

    Rock

  • exceptional 2 albums

    Big Red Letter Day

    Birdbrain

and after all these years..the old pain still grips me...fantastic music...

  • I used to believe this song was for me only, hah! It grips me too, friend

  • A diamond in the rough.

  • my life has played out almost word for word with this song... if you all only knew

  • @Griffin1082000 You are not alone!

  • @Griffin1082000 Was always wondering for the meaning if this one, it gets me confused at some point. If not a personal problem, would be nice for me to know if you can send me a message :)

Cheers mate, have a good day

  • i didn't know this song , but it's just given me goosebumps , fucking awsome .

  • They're awesome! I've always loved Buffalo Tom. I won a radio station contest to see them in Seattle (kind of ironic since I'm from Boston, and so is Buffalo Tom, but it was unbelievable!)

  • Think i was there 4 that . I met them also before the show. They were friends with one of my bandmates at the time. Think it was '94. I always get misty when i hear this.

  • thanks for posting. legend.

  • *sad smile, shakes head*

    Thank you OP.

  • There is no way this band, you, any psychic, underground goth chick, counselor, psychoanylist, preacher, saint, ex-wife,parent,professor,bartender or anyfuckin' body else(except maybe my dog) will know what this song means to me-little overdramatic-fuck it!! I want it played at my wake...

  • classic!

  • @scottymacIII Dude, I know for a fact that you are retarded. If they wrote this (actually) they are lucky.

  • @MrNigelPreston you obviously get your "facts" from the back pages of a cheap porno mag. Please, enlighten us on who did write the song, genius. The album only came out 20+ yrs ago.

  • @scottymacIII Lumping music and porno mags together is the tip of the iceberg of your retardation. And when an album is released and who actually wrote a song on it has nothing to do with each other also. Ask Zep. Sometimes your heroes are just guys in videos. Not a bubble burster, but that's the truth. By the way, Buffalo Tom could do flat out karaoke and I would go and pay a cover. One of the greatest bands ever. No matter where songwriting credit is given.

  • @MrNigelPreston Your little speech sounded well rehearsed. The fact that something I posted 2 years ago could stir up emotion enough for any comment at all s rather bizzare and shows your desperation for attention. I would say I'm flattered, but I'm not. I'm done with ya, good luck little boy.

  • @scottymacIII Never looked at when you posted it. And it's "is" not "s". You have given me thorough entertainment.

  • @scottymacIII they did write this

  • great band.

  • what an awesome song, thanks for posting this song. One of those bands you wish you could still here. Anyone know about where they are or still together?

  • Fucking awesome : )

  • Awesome BT!!!!

  • great song, beaten only by taillights fade. Fantastic band.

  • This songs kills me...chills down my spine every time. This song and the album really meant a lot to me at the time it came out. I tried to share this album with as many people as I could...it's just one of those albums.
