Yes cops do work in shifts as opposed to a soldier on the ground in Iraq, but they do tours (usually 1 year), where as the career of a cop is 20 plus years. And being cop is a hell of a lot more then just tactics, it includes an understanding of law and being able to make a case. So dont get your shit in a knot, no one is disrespecting the military by paying tribute to those who protect the streets.
