You're right! My property taxes here in AZ went up 15% this year, even though values are down. When I called the county assessor's office, the clerk told me whatever they need for education, police, fire, etc. is divided up & passed on to homeowners. if they need more, you pay MORE, no matter what the value of your property. Ripofff City!!!
