Patti es una de esas artistas que rompen fronteras con una precenscia lindisima en el esenario de esas artistas que hoy en dia no existen mas, es un lujo poder tenerla y disfrutar de su musica su poesia y todo su talento.
Patti is one of those artists who break boundaries with a very pretty in the esenario precenscia of those artists that do not exist today but is a luxury to have it and enjoy his music and his poetry all his talent.
Wow!!! Beautiful. One of my favorite REM songs. Wonderful, too, to see that Patti Smith hasn't gone chasing after her youth with ugly face lifts, mega-heavy cosmetics & too young for her age clothes. Fabulous to see them all live. Thanks so much for posting this video.
4:39 - 4:46 - Stipe really looks like he's in awe of her. It's like you can see him thinking 'I listened to your albums when I was 15 and now I'm here on stage with you, performing a song that I wrote'.
I love this song, and this exhibition is so inspired!!! Thanks for posting. Although you can clearly see and hear a slight skip in the video at 2:39, which is quite bothering because it spoils such an emotional moment...
Think this is the BEST rem song ever? Love the lyrics? REM are just brilliant? However i cant help but wonder weather Michael looks alittle ill over the years? xxxx
Also, I always think that it sounds like Michael Stipe is singing 'Adrenaline, Princess Leah'- as the album mentions about films stars and feels like it's in love with the iconography and love of the road of 1950s-1980s, set to a 1970s 'double album' kind of length, it seems appropriate that a 1970s film character should be mentioned even if it doesn't seem in context in that line. Anyway, I know what the correct lyric is.
I remember reading that E-bow the letter's lyrics were written a bit like Country Feedback. New Adventures in Hi-Fi is in part like a mix of the country rock of Out Of Time / Automatic for the people with the rock of Monster.I seem to remember reading that the title of the album is partly a joke because the album is quite deliberately 1970s road rock in part but it really does have new experiments throughout,it sounds like a lot of hard work went in to it and it has pretty much all great songs.
Do you know if there is a message in it or a story? I mean, I've read the lyrics....but I don't get anything from it : )..... I like the song, but the lyrics might have a deeper sense than the one I find...
I like a lot this song and probably the lyrics has double sense. It was a letter written from Micheal stype to River before he died...I've never translated the song in my own language

Thanks for the posting. This is a great song and performance. I forgot how good of an album Hi-Fi really is.
ronsworld250 2 years ago
Hi-Fi is really a brilliant album. It didn't get the hype that Out of Time and Automatic did....but it's a far better album than both imho.
If you haven't listened for a while....crank it on a decent stereo and enjoy the magic!! :)
