Just elaborating on what loltion said: Astrid married Gibson Kemp in '67 after she learned she was pregnant by him, but she miscarried. Divorced after 7 years and married a businessman whom she divorced in the 80s; no kids from that marriage either. She used to regret not having children, but is satisfied now with the way things turned out.

I too could not have children, and I truly think me not be able to have kids had something to do with old relationships not working out, we have talked adoption, but I am 14 years older than my hubby, he is 41 and I will be 55 at the end of July, but we both love children, all of the other relationships I had after my ex were not meant to be and I really think it was because I could not have children was the cause of it.

There are a few early Beatles bootlegs such as The Quarrymen At Home and The Dawn of Modern Rock that you can download which feature him on bass. As to the level and quality of his playing, it's up to debate I'd say.

Do you know who was responsible for Stu's death?... John Lennon. Do some research and you'll find out, this is a fact not just another Beatles' myth... check about it in Lennon's biography by Giuliano. Lennon kicked Stu's head several times weeks before he started complaining from headaches, the Beatles witnessed that and had to keep their mouths shut in order to get fortune and fame. The Beatles were nothing but bastards and have never been the "angels of peace and love" they pretended.

@alexmottram07 The cause of death was bleeding in the right ventricle of his brain. he was either kicked in the head or thrown against a brick wall during a fight at Lathom Hall, after a show in 1961. Lennon & Best fought off Stu's attackers & helped him - they didnt attack him, and that's according to former Bealtes manager Allan Williams who was there as a witness.

@americanguyish Nope, Stu had already quit the band (to stay with Astrid) before he died. He was very self-aware that he was not a good musician and did not fit in.... it was John who insisted he be in the band in the first place, mainly because he was his best friend. Stu's legacy to the band was that he was the one to give John the idea of calling the group "The Beetles" (after Buddy's Holly's "Crickets")....John was the one who changed one letter to make it the Beatles. John loved Stu. Sad.

John's first wife's name was Cynthia but no unfortunately I didn't know John or Paul personally or Ringo or George for that matter, but I did see The Beatles in 1965 at Shea Stadium in New York....I'll never forget it !

Was the LP cover called "With the Beatles" in the U.K. and Germany? I know it was when the CD came out. The LP cover here in the U.S. was "Meet The Beatles" Never the less, the photography was wonderful.

I think we all had "With the Beatles" but they repackaged as "Meet the Beatles" for the US market. Maybe this was not the only album. I noticed they did this with Patti Boyd's book and maybe Clapton as well. Change the title to suit the US marketing etc. Thanks for comment!

Also, it is amazing how love can transcend languages as Astrid was German. I think in the beginning there were some problems with the language communication. But, apparently it was love at first sight. Stu and Astrid hit it off quite well. Thanks much for the video.

He was a very talented artist and, had he lived, his association with the Beatles would have probably helped his career as a painter.

From what I have read they were all 'attracted' to Astrid and John was no exception and he talked endlessly about Astrid on postcards written back to Cynthia. They respected Astrid for her fashion sense and 'style' and she was able to use photographic techniques on them in Hamburg that they later used (the half shadow faces on the album cover of With The Beatles was as Astrid technique from the earlier Beatle Hamburg days). I feel respect went both ways in their relationship.
