  • Japanese charcoal is awesome ever since I came back I feel retarded using Kingsford or generic it is expensive since it burns so quick. I got to say though a home made hamburger kills a lot of home sickness ahhh yummy...

  • Yea not as much as you might think though... 40 years and its time for a new life in Japan.

  • Do you miss the states...lol

  • that coal is best with a blow torch for a minute or so and you are good to go. Little propane kind

  • thats what real charcol is

  • In a ways it's already been asked and you don't seem to have a firm answer, but I'm going to assume that in a concrete mansion that it's at least remotely safe. What was the smoke level? I know I've used those tiny grills with standard charcoal and they can really put out a decent amount of smoke. I'd be a bit worried about people thinking the apartment building was on fire.

  • No I dont have a firm answer... but the smoke level is not bad since I am cooking a small portion. Worst that happens is they tell me I cant do it anymore. The Japanese carcoal burns hottter longer and really doesnt smoke much until grease hits it... hope that is helpful info...thanks for the comment

  • Yea I am getting mixed reviews about the BBQ...Some people get shut down some don't and my building is concrete like most...some are older and have wood around. My wife is Japanese and she was pretty sure it was o.k. so what the heck I will do it till they stop me. Japan is funny they will not stop you but if you ask they will say no. EEven if there is nothing specified in the lease

  • do most apartment building in japan allow to set up a bbq grill outside your door way....???

if they do.. its a cheap way to invite friends and have a yakitori and save money on restaurants..

  • Burger sonds good right now !

  • ur from america too doofus -.-

  • You made me hungry. :)

BTW, thanks for the classic intro of the '60s TV show COMBAT! I miss Starring Vic Morrow and Rick Jason!

I never missed this program when I was a junior high school kid.

  • I love how the coals turn a purple color! SO pretty!

  • I'm down for the BYOB ;)

Hey, what ya doin' this weekend? I'm gonna be in Tokyo sat. or sun.

    -sam

p.s-actually informed by your vid, way to go ;)

  • I am free so this weekend is fine.... I have been drinking since dinner and trying to figure out subtitle codex shit so I can watch a Kurosawa movie.... I think I am going to bed but yea lets firm things up ... I will send you a private message so you have my e-mail....ping me after

  • Simple but ballsy. Reminds me I should be doing more with my balcony.

  • Yea I hope I am not breaking some ordinance... whatever "hey stupid gaijin stop that".... glad you liked it. What is that foul stuff you drank in your blog?? I like the music bro...

  • I think I have a couple videos of drinking foul stuff. You mean the really really foul stuff? Put my best guesses in its comments just now. Lots of bands in Japan have deep linguistic pride.

  • I had a canadian friend who did the same thing... the neighbors freaked out and called the fire department. Ahhh... making me hungry.

  • Yea I checked and my lease says nothing about that and well my building is a concrete slab. Hope they don't freak on me but for now its cool..... you are welcome to have a burger here.... was hoping to get a handful of tubers over for that BYOB and I supply the burgers.....take care
