  • my sisters choir is doing this at Worlds of fun festival this saturday

  • my school choir is doin this too its this thursday!

  • Good luck! It is a beautiful piece!

  • i just sight read this piece with the all state reading choir... amazing. i was awestruck at the end of the song. im really upset we didnt end up preforming it at our cncert ),:

  • ooo........my school choir is going to do this 1 for UIL and we just listened to a recording of it today in class

  • wtf!? u cant marcato that shit!

  • @musicianfreak23 I was thinking the same thing, haha.

  • amazing!

  • im 14 n i did that piece already jus sayin

  • @bountyhuntas The only way that's going to impress any of us is if it actually sounded good. Just sayin'.

  • @SqueezyCornbread hahaha i concure

  • @SqueezyCornbread hahaha i concur

  • well arnt u special

  • Bravo! You handled Dello Joio's eccentric, sensual harmonies quite well. It speaks quite well of your group and your director that as a large group you were able to effectively navigate a piece designed for a chamber group. This is one of my all-time favorites. Have you ever done "Make Our Garden Grow?"

  • Thank you! No, we haven't done that piece. I've heard it though...beautiful!

  • the accidentals and key changes are CRAZY in this song to learn, but it's so worth it.

  • were singing this piece with Andre Thomas for a concert this weekend

Out of the 14 songs we are singing, this is my favorite. :)

    Excellent job. :)

  • Don't mind Trucker510. Though he says Ochoa is the best I don't believe it. I may sound like I am a hypocrite because I went to Ochoa Middle, I am not. I think many other school choirs are wonderful. This is an interesting piece. I waited such a long time to hear the choir though (58 seconds). This piece is wonderful though I think that the sopranos could have backed off a tad bit to hear the altos. Its almost balanced. Like I said its a wonderful song.

  • Check out the video I have on my profile. Its called "The Lonely Sea." People may say that our choir is the best because we're noted for our outstanding performances. And we were and are.

    Other Choirs I like are:

    The Cambridge Singers

San Ramon Valley High School Choirs

Mt. Eden Choirs - I'm part of this group

    Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir

--There are more. These came up in my head quickly.

  • Thank you! I'll check out these videos.

  • I really appreciated this comment! I went and listened to Ochoa Middle and they are good, but we do two completely different styles of music and are at different levels. I agree, you are very good as well. The balance may have been because of the camera's crappy speakers, but I see what you mean. Our soprano section has always been...enthusiastic.

  • Lovely! The fact that people actually found things to complain about is so typical.

I found this video while searching for a story called "A Very Horrible Idea?".

  • Thank you! That's interesting..."A Very Horrible Idea?" =)

  • Your group has a wonderful sound. However, I prefer this piece done by a much smaller group, and with more dynamics. It's much more pleasing to the ears that way.

  • my schools name is ochoa type Ochoa chior

  • Found it. I completely disagree with you, but we're all entitled to our own opinions.

  • u suck ocoa best

  • Yes, thank you. That was very mature. I'd like to see a video of the choir you say is so much better.

    ladysnapey

  • where are the dynamics? so much more could have been done with this song.

  • Oh how I miss this. Curse you, summer.

  • So beautiful... I was in a State choir that performed this recently, I'm still waiting to hear it... but I'm sure this group has a much better bass presence than ours did. Sadly... since I was one of the few basses.

  • When I was in college getting a music degree we sang this piece. It was always one of my very favorites. That soprano line "come to me in dreams that I may live" is like sunshine breaking through the clouds. It's just gorgeous. Your choir sounds great. Probably the hardest things we ever sang were "Cantos Sagrados" by James MacMillan and Strauss' "Deutsche Motett"...they're both outrageously difficult to tune and sing well. The Macmillan was vocally hard; the tenor line was a killer.

  • Very nice. Just a little problem with some vowel issues in the soprano section, but other than that, very good!

  • Thank you! Glad you enjoyed.

  • that was brilliant!!! my school is doing this song, but it's not NEARLY as good. our guys just dont know how to use dynamics...lol. but then again, we are highschoolers.xD but we're pretty good actually, we're one of the best choirs in the county. but our guys aren't getting the hang of dynamics...your guys' were amazing! good job, i hope we can do this well.

  • i'm sorry 2 say dis...BUT my choir's version sounds so much better...no disrespect...

  • Okay then...what's your school's name? I'd like to check out the recording.

  • Definately have to agree with you. Then again we go to the same school.... so yeah... but yeah I def. agree with you.

  • you guys are amazing!!

my chorus is doing an arrangement of this song and i love the way you guys did it

  • I love this song!

  • completly amazing most spectacular performace of the year

  • thank you!
