Oh my gosh! I can't believe that I didn't connect the fact that Oogie's voice sounded like Old Deuteronomy form CATS. I feel really stupid all of a sudden.
HAHAHA. I love this song. And Ken Page is one of my favorite singers. And I saw him live in Man of LaMancha tour, but didn't get is autograph. :( it was sad. But he was so worth seeing live!
Aha is that what he was doing? I knew he was changing the lyrics, but i didn't know it was because of that. Never the less though, he is still good as he was back when the movie was made
Ken Page is AWESOME!!! He's so talented, being the kind, gentle leader of the CATS to being the evil, creepy Oogie Boogie. I have to confess at first I had no idea that Ken Page voiced Oogie, and when I found out I was, "OMG!!! THAT'S AWESOME!!!!"
Yes! I'm a big fan of Ken Page. I first time I saw him was in CATS. So that is how I know. But I would've never guessed he was Oogie Boogie man. Is that really surprising?
Oh...wow...He also did a voice over in "All Dogs Go To Heaven." A character known as "King Gator." And why did it come as a surprise to learn that he did the voice of Oogie Boogie?
Yeah that tends to happen... And I find stereotypically ironic that he's best known for Oogie Boogie. He also gueststarred in many other shows, as well as play minor rolls in movies, and now I want to watch "Dream Girls" to try and spot him
Yeah, he apprently plays the roll of the club owner, Max Washington. You might have seen him, but I never actually watched the movie in its entirety.... :(
You're kidding? You will like the movie, it's very good. But I can't believe that was Ken Page. I mean now that I think about it I can tell it was Mr. Page. But first time through I didn;t catch it?
Ha, I knew you saw that part. I on the other hand have not... I've seen it, just not the whole thing... And After seeing it, I can kinda see why it was out done in the box office by "Night At The Museum."
Yes, I have to admit that "Night At The Museum" was tons better. Although you should definately watch "Dream Girls" all the way. It was still a very good movie.
I watched it this morning as a matter of fact, and upon taking a good look at Page, I almost mistakened him to be James Earl Jones... Though they don't look alike... I feel so slow....
Hmmm... I can see why you made that mistake. Another friend said that he was James Earl Jones when she first saw that part, then she said, "never mind that is Ken Page"
I really can't believe this is the same guy that played Old Deuteronomy! I couldn't picture it at all until I came upon this video. The voices of both characters are just so different!!!

He changed literally like four words, at first I thought he was going to completely shift around lines or something.
People were actually complaining about how he sang it?

He went from the gentle, caring Old Deuteronomy to the evile Oogie Boogie. I always thought he played good chracters.
