  • I am a Burmese. I lived in Burma, Yangon(Rangoon) until 3 years ago when i moved here to U.S. and guess what? I have no idea what was happening in my country while i was living in it. Until i arrived here to U.S. i was shocked by the truth. Burma is one of the country with the most censorship. I was ignorant . But please support Aung San Su Kyi and the citizens in Burma. The soldiers i can't understand. What are they trying to protect by becoming a soldier?

  • This guy has so much trouble with his speech. Can't pronounce "nuclear" till this day let alone getting "Aung San Suu Kyi" right.

  • Ummmmmm...HE HAD A COUPLE MARTINIS FOR LUNCH.

  • @Yeevooihon <3333333333333333333333 I figured that out today tooo ^___^

  • @bapyou Your one note tune is getting monotonous here, your figure is bullshit, and my patience has ended.

  • What an utter idiot.

Thought bubble above the Idiot Bush's head: "Can't wait to tee off this afternoon!"

  • @bapyou I think that's actually Obama's line.

  • Aung San Suu Kyi, a force and symbol for and of democracy and hope.

George W. Bush, a force and symbol for and of fascism and despair.

  • @bapyou You're entitled to your opinion, as cliche as it is. But just remember that Pres. Bush publicly recognized the courage of Daw Suu more than any other US president. Just as he did in 2006 for His Holiness Dalai Lama, with personally presenting him the Congressional Gold Medal in recognition of his struggle for Tibetan rights. No other president even came close, and that includes Obama (who had HHDL exit the White House via the garbage exit).

  • "You're entitled to your opinion, as cliche as it is." The truth is never a cliche.

This gathering is a goddamned put-on. I doubt Bush ever heard of Suu Kyi before. I can tell by the way he steps ever so gingerly over pronouncing her name. And Bush did absolutely nothing about the horrid conditions under which the Burmese have lived for the past two decades. His pals at Unocal have gotten away with doing business with a murderous regime for the past 30 years. Bush is a murderer as well.

  • @bapyou Look I haven't got time to play with you at the moment. I live in Bangkok so I assume you can deduce why, if you are as well informed as you think you are. The "truth" as disseminated by international media (about our current crisis) is almost 100% cliche and bears little relation to actual truth. Yet millions around the world are convinced that the pop media narrative is the actual truth, when in fact it's roughly 95% madeup of cliches. CNN=Cliche News Network. I rest my case yer honor.

  • Not sure what you mean by the "pop media" narrative. I live w/o television. Considering nothing was done to alleviate Burmese suffering throughout his admin, for you to think George Bush's recognition of Suu Kyi at this staged gathering has any significance is laughable. Bush spoke endlessly about evil N Korea, Iran & Iraq but did ZERO about Burma. He looked the other way for his pals at Unocal. By the way, I sudied Thai language at university & I have Burmese refugee friends in Chiang Mai.

  • @bapyou Perhaps U live w/o tv. Perhaps UR media is restricted to indy crap, "progressive" blah blah only. Don't care, I can see you're well set in UR views. "..did ZERO about Burma" is proof enough UR mind will never change. It simply isn't a fact. He didn't send troops but I bet you hate him for the Saddam & Taliban thing. Mispronounced her name, hell not only that. Also Laura, plug her name into a Burma search. You sound like farang redshirt lovers lately. Check my blog at Burma crisis period.

  • @bapyou You may not have heard him talk about it apart from this video, not my problem. Or heard him describe Laura's involvement, it was important to her before the 2007 crisis, you could find this out too. But neither pop nor progg media would have told you. Could he have taken a different tack? Sure, that's argument on policy. I wished 4 military action after Nargis. But I'm not pres, and glad I don't need to make those decisions. Bush biggest problem - he never defended himself from attacks.

  • @bapyou Havin refugee friends is nice, good for you. I know some in BKK, there are many here, but that's no part of my argument. I KNOW lots of Burma ppl appreciated what Bush tried, during monks march & nargis. Some wished for more, like jets to bomb Than Shwe's house. But none would say "did nothing" or "said nothing" much less bitch about pronunciation of Daw Suu's name. Petty. Ideologues are just stuck. I can't get you to see another side so how about finding someone else's time to waste.

  • @bapyou I should have known better, have way more important things going on here. Fascism and despair. Pure empty rhetoric, conventional progg wisdom, nothing will persuade a reconsideration when it's based on that. And the Unocal cabal on top. Priceless. Hate him all you want, he doesn't care. Neither do I.

  • @agam4 "And the Unocal cabal on top" Not a cabal or a conspiracy theory in the least. Anyone who is educated on the topic of Burma knows the interests of Unocal, and what they do to defend those intests ... and, what the United States does in looking the other way to the abuses in which Unocal engages. If George Bush was truly concerned about getting rid of "evil regimes," Burma would have been top on his list. It wasn't. What a fake idiot.

  • Let's just be happy, that this one of the FEW things Bush manged to do correctly.

  • Human Right

    Free Aung San Suu Kyi

  • 1:51 "We do all we can" actually he did nothing to change Burma during his presidency.............what a shame...........i believe, he didn't even write this speech..........WTF? LOL

  • mjiohuiygvbuip

  • he cant even pronouncce her name he didn't do anything we need to do more for burma! my parents fought for that right D:

  • Political, We had pay thousands of thousands of life to get Burma freedom and Democracy . We have to pay more than we had then we can get true Democracy. If we just sitting and watch , there Burma will be prostitute country.
